Superb cooking

I have had this stove for three weeks now and am adjusting to induction cooking which is much faster than the electric burners I had with the previous stove. It claims to boil water within 110 seconds and I can attest to that with a pot that contained 2 cups of water. There was an initial smell from the oven after the first few times I used it which made me think I forgot to remove plastic from the inside but I think it was just "new oven smell" - not at all similar to new car smell - but it is subsiding as I use it. Recipes usually recommend heating your pans to medium high but I have found that this tends to be too high on this range and a setting just above medium works better. I'm not a fast cooker and things were heating up way too fast on a higher heat setting. The knob controls are intuitive and the buzzing sound of cool pans is normal, especially if you are using lower quality or thinner pans with stainless steel in them. The buzzing goes away as the pan heats up and is also less noticeable if you use a lower heat setting or a thicker bottomed pan. I was so happy to find out that the warming center didn't require an induction product as I often use a plate to keep food warm after cooking on the warming burner. I haven't used the app that much aside from getting alerts about oven temps and finish times. One very small annoyance is the digital screen remains off until you touch it - but when you touch it, it activates the area you touched immediately. Not knowing yet where each feature is on the touch screen, I have to cancel whatever it was I didn't want in order to start the action I did want. Overall, I have found this to be a very nice product and it is the classiest looking thing in my kitchen. Now I want to upgrade all my appliances to Cafe!

The Induction top NEVER gets dirty!!

I love everything about the stove but don’t like asking someone to look up how to use each separate thing. I want a paper manual that I can look at while using the stove. I can’t work with the stove in the kitchen when the computer is in another room not that close.

Front burner no longer working!

Very disappointed front burner stopped working just after a year. I expected better quality from GE, a range should be the workhorse of the kitchen. Now I have to spend the time and hundreds of dollars to have a service person come out and look at it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Induction Range

Cooking with induction is different from electric and gas. There is a learning curve. I have been using my new stove for about three weeks now. Here are three aspects which are my favorites. The stove heats fast whether it is water in my teapot or the skillet for cooking meats. Likewise when I turn it down, it responds immediately. This allows vegetables and sauces to simmer or just to keep warm. The stove top is easy to clean because spills do not burn onto it. The only negative so far is with the oven. It cooks beautifully, but it is disappointingly slow to preheat. Overall, I am very glad I decided to give this stove a try.

Induction cooking is the Best!

So far I love the features of this Cafe Induction Stove. There are two features that I fell are a little short from a Quality aspect. The oven light is almost useless; Cannot see the items while they are baking. A higher wattage bulb or even a second light might have been a better feature at this price point. Also the volume on the timer signal is so low that you can't hear it if you are more than 4 feet away. There doesn't seem to be an option to change the volume.

One use and oven dead

Style over substance. I used my range one time before the oven stopped working. It starts heating then after a couple of seconds the controls flicker and it powers off, and the clock has to be reset. I did all the troubleshooting. Based on other recent reviews, GE is selling a product it knows is defective.

Great Features and Function!

I like that the Range has four induction cooking burners - 1 large, 2 medium and 1 small as well as a small radiant keeps warm burner. I like the function of the front controls. They light up when in use and there are control locks that prevent the burners from going on in the event that you have an induction pan on the burner. I like that the oven has three racks, one of which is a rolling rack. It has a slightly smaller overall area than some others I looked at, but still works well. I like the Cafe Stainless with the Minimal Copper Band on the handles to give it character. After a slight learning curve of how to adjust to induction cooking, both my husband and I love the function of the induction burners. I like that the oven and burners have the WIFI capabilities, which I have not done yet - needed to register the appliances first. The Capacity is good. I am happy with the performance of the burners and the oven.
