Not Impressed with the quality for the price

Due to all the complicated electronics in this microwave, it intermittently shuts off, the screen locks and you will have to research the internet or manual to find out how to unlock. The fan appears to be off balance and going out and the turn table broke but GE did send a replacement part.

Warning - these products are dangerous

I have had two of these units over the last 5 years and both of them have caught on fire. There is a significant defect in these units where they will short out and can catch on fire. Save your self a bunch of money and buy a cheaper and more reliable toaster oven and separate microwave. The elegant design is not worth the risk to your family.

Disappointment

The computer screen has had 2 separate issues in less than 2 years. It's been replaced once and now appears to need to be replaced again.

Beautiful and works well when it works.

We love this when it works. We love the look, appearance and convenience. However, we’ve been getting an error code (F696) and alarm at night that wakes us up and we have to go “dismiss” it. This started in the beginning and is still a problem. It also tells us to close the door before it starts but the door is closed. Sometimes the cook time jumps around too. We are also unable to connect it to Wi-Fi for some reason. Please advise. It’s just over a year old and most of these problems began shortly after we bought it. Thanks!

switching from metal plate to glass plate

every time I have to use the microwave after using the speed oven, I have to wait for the machine to cool down so I can remove the metal plate and put the glass plate. really does not help the meal cooking process. I really hope the glass plate was oven proof. Complete failure of expensive appliances.

We’re sorry to hear you’re unhappy with the process of switching from the oven to the microwave. We can imagine how irritating this can be and understand your concern.

While the glass tray cannot be used during Precision Cook, you do not need to wait for the unit to cool completely before switching cooking modes. It may have a message saying it’s cooling, but this is only to inform you that it’s still hot to the touch. As long as it allows you to switch to microwave mode, you’re safe to use it.

It's Pretty and works great as a microwave but...

The other 4 features of the 5 in 1, not so much. First off is the safety concern of the door temperature. The door opens 50" above the floor, so anyone not tall will run the risk of burning their arms. 2nd issue is cleaning it, requires a step-ladder, again because it's so high. (I'm 5.7). I was hoping this would also toast, but it's just easier to use a toaster oven.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Looks great saves space

We have had the cafe 30" smart advantium oven for about a month now and we love it. So far we have used it as a microwave, convection oven, and proofing space for dough. It has become the workhorse of our new kitchen.
I would recommend this to a friend!
