Cafe Advantium Microwave/Oven Combo not working

So excited to use my brand new Cafe Advantium 240V after waiting months to get, it makes a very loud hum and neither the microwave nor the oven heats and then it just cuts off and screen goes blank. Has anyone else had this problem with a new Cafe Advantium combo? What should I do? Should I call the electrician back or GE support?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Form and function at last

This is actually my third Advantium oven and each time I've replaced one I've looked for alternatives that can do what it does and I never find it. This time I was thrilled to find that they've upgraded the interface with a sleek new touch interface that works very well. They've also upgraded the look with the Cafe line and I can finally get a white model again. The choice of handle accents is also wonderful and since we have a lot of other copper accents in our kitchen we went with the copper handle and it looks amazing.
It also cooks amazingly well. We have a full-size convection oven but we use this for just about everything. In the past microwaves were only really useful for warming things up but this oven actually COOKS! Even simple things like bagel bites or chicken wings taste so much better using the speedcook settings. You can actually make things crispy and browned instead of just warm and soggy. It also has more interior spaced than most microwaves and is the only one we've found that can accommodate a 9X13 pan.
The new interface is also a major improvement. The older interface with the analog knob wasn't bad but this is a big step forward. Not only is it much easier to use it's much easier to keep clean. My only minor complaint is that it can be sluggish at times... Hopefully they can speed it up in an update.

Copy/paste this other review because we have the EXACT same issue. Please help!! "We love this when it works. We love the look, appearance and convenience. However, we’ve been getting an error code (F696) and alarm at night that wakes us up and we have to go “dismiss” it. This started in the beginning and is still a problem. It also tells us to close the door before it starts but the door is closed. Sometimes the cook time jumps around too. We are also unable to connect it to Wi-Fi for some reason. Please advise. Thanks!"

This error has to do with the connected app communication. Great , but always get an error message

Love how it looks and works , but we continuously get this error message and noise that pings ( always at night when we are all sleeping) , until you dismiss code F696 .

We recommend resetting your oven by disconnecting power from the unit at the circuit breaker for 2 - 3 minutes and reconnecting power. If this reset does not revert the unit back to normal operating function, this will require service by a qualified technician. Great looking microwave! That is about it.

A pleasure to look at, very pleased with fit and finish of the appliance. That’s about where it ends. It has become an expensive microwave for us. Screen freezes often, requiring a reset at the breaker panel. Oven cooks unevenly, it’s been a huge disappointment performance wise.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love this oven

The Advantium has been a life saver since it is taking almost a year to get the matching wall oven from GE. We love the convection and precision cooking options. Watch out for the hot metal interior though. It can be tricky to get pans out when using the wire rack and metal plate for two-level cooking. Some low profile oven mitts would be a valuable accessory with the oven.
