Great Kit to get started with FPV

I was really motivated from that tower challenge video, that I went out and got this kit, as well as a FPV camera, and Receiver Monitor. I struggled mostly with trying to manage the cables in segment TWO taking almost FIFTEEN minutes to route them without them popping out, and wanted to give them enough slack as well (bit of a perfectionist trying to get it to look like how it was in the book). I was surprised this kit didn't offer a Model B variant chassis to build with other parts, though not really disappointed since this one turned out great without any of the stickers. Overall it was a great experience building it, and am having a ton of fun with my FPV RC Truck!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Would not work

I love Lego and building with Lego but not this one. I did check to make sure my phone would operate this but after purchasing and assembling and getting the batteries for it the control would not download on my phone and I could not operate this. I held on to this for several weeks hoping I could download the app but never could and sent this one back. :(
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Overpriced, limited, disappointing

-Short boring build nothing surprising or interesting.
-New app control is too restrictive
-Motors drive the truck too slow
-The control+ app is just specific to the set, no customization. I don’t care for app controlled models, what happens when the app is no longer supported? You can’t use your set.
-Get Powered Up app for customization but be prepared for a learning curve. Sometimes I like simple like the IR controllers.
-The whole set seems very lazy, feels like Lego said we need to push a set out, and here you go. With only 958 pieces, it is extremely overpriced.

Poor performance!

I got this set for Christmas of 2020. When I unwrapped it I was so exited for a big r/c truck.I built the set and I tried it for the first time and a gear fell out and it took about an hour to fix. Over all, poor performance! It had major trouble climbing a ramp and very slow on flat surface! The part that holds the wheel snapped when I put the truck on the ground the 2nd or 3rd time I used it. Overall bad r/c truck! So disappointing! Control app is very inaccurate.

Ok build, horrible app control

The build is just ok. It's mostly a rehash of the dozens of other technic vehicles and doesn't really offer any new ideas.
The application, however, is horrible and doesn't work. I have tried on three separate android devices and in all cases the application won't connect. The green progress bar simply fills to about 95% then hangs for a while and then starts over.
I would wait for this new technic line to mature more before buying.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

SUPERBUILD

This thing is FREAKING AMAZING! Other than Voltron this is the most gorgeous LEGO vehicle I have ever seen. The bags are numbered, the tires are HUGE and the color combination is awesome! Not to mention the skull prints on the stickers. Very expensive but worth it! It's battery operated which makes it twice as good, the only thing I wish it had is a remote control instead of a phone app to give it a more throwback feel. INCREDIBLE to look at everyday, looks best on a solid black surface. Off road trucks are the best and I would recommend getting more than one cause this truck is going to be a classic in the future. 2019 was the perfect year for this to be introduced to the world.

Straight-froward build experience, love the suspension system, the big tires and the intuitive control app. It really shines when taking it out on gravel road. Such a beast! would love to see LEGO come out with more RC vehicles
