Runs LOUD!

This is my 2nd GE frig in about 2 weeks. The first one was actually exchanged because it ran so loud and constantly! You could hear the humming sound from the next room. Fortunately that was exchanged for a new one. I've had this new one for about 2 days now and the humming is much better than the last, although not great. When the frig runs, it runs quite loud compared to my other frigs I have owned. You definitely can hear humming from the motor/compressor or whatever. I'm not happy with this but I do like the way it looks, so i'm going to have to deal I think...we'll see how it does ina couple of months.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very nice counter-depth fridge with well thought out storage spaces considering you lose some space with this model. The clean look of the counter-depth model is worth the trade-off for me though since I don't have a large family. It does show some fingerprint smudges but I knew that when buying this model. Using a stainless steel cleaner keeps them at bay though. Some other reviews mentioned the loud compressor noise, and I have to agree...to a point. To me, the compressor sounds normal. However, there is what sounds like a fan that comes on every now and then and has a noticeable whirring noise. That being said, I don't think any of the noises are annoying or out of the ordinary for a fridge. It just has a different sound compared to other refrigerators I've heard. That's the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars.

Flexible storage options that I am still getting used to. Only criticism is the ice maker throwing crushed ice outside the glass.

Dig the lay out

I’m a hyper organized person and this fridge makes it easy. Jars and bottles fit in the door which leaves the rest of the fridge open. It easily fits my meal prep containers etc. and it’s easy to see everything.

So far, one month in, no major problems

Frig was delivered August 1, 2019 with deep scratch on door. New door was shipped quickly. Technicians will install it today. Freezer handle fell of in our hands. I reset the allen screws on the freezer handle, but in a week it was loose again. Fingerprints are a real problem on the stainless. The ice maker makes plenty of ice for our family of three. The inside lighting is great-- we can see everything. Pretty quiet frig-- no loud noises from the fan or compressor. Over all we are pleased. Just amazed that refrigerators cost these days.
