Very disappointed in quality of plastic lid.

Right out of the box this little chopper appeared to have weak plastic top lid design. Boy was I right. My little chopper is not used often. After only a few uses the top black plastic lid broke where it attaches to clear lid. Now today the clear plastic lid has broken just above the handle also. Fortunately if I align the lids and hold together I can get the chopper to still work till, but challenging and for how long? Chopper itself I have no complaints. I use mainly to chop crackers for bread crumb like toppings and it literally does the job in about 10 seconds. Have also chopped ham for salads does great. I don't abuse my machine with hard chops so it should last long, just not the lid. Wish they would design a better quality design.

Disassembling the Lid

I couldn’t wait to start using this. Today was going to ‘the day.’ It must take an act of God to remove the lid? Unfortunately, it has been sitting on my counter for nearly an hour while I sift through tutorials which still don’t yield an answer. It is ridiculous that KitchenAid design engineers cannot come up with something less cumbersome. Especially, given the cost of their appliances. I would not recommend this to anyone unless they’ve been warned about the lid, first.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a sturdy, space-saving, easy-to-use and powerful machine. I was looking for an appliance that could replace the alligator choppers which are difficult to clean. This chopper can mince as small a load as a single clove of garlic! And I’ve discovered that it does a great job in chopping herbs and nuts. With a spout to add liquids, salad dressings are prepared in seconds. I love that the blade does not fall out when you turn the bowl over to empty. I could not be happier with this appliance, which lives up to the KitchenAid name in every way.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A few years ago I bought a full-size food processor thinking it was the answer to all my needs...... has a small, one-speed grinder that had some plastic broken off and I had my head in the sand about any BPAs it might contain, but hadn't found anything that would serve larger quantities and be a brand name......... this is actually the second 3.5 C Food Chopper that I have bought, as I gave a Silver one to my mother a while back and use it at her house.
As I make a LOT of sauces, my new RED 3.5 C Food Chopper is not only efficient and quiet, but it has made my work so much easier and fun, and she looks beautiful in my white tile kitchen that has red and silver accents.
THANK YOU for the design and quality of the 3.5 C Food Chopper - I recommend it to anyone on the hunt for one.
