Looks great but not so reliable

I bought this and it broke in less than 18 months of use. I had loved the looks of this kettle, buy after using it for awhile, the lid won’t shut tight and eventually the on/off switch wouldn’t respond.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this 3 months ago, so glad I chosed Kitchen Aid verse another name brand,
It has beautiful look , led light push on button & boiled water so quick , I am very satisfied and enjoyed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Early in its use, there was a strange smell when we used it, and had to double check that the interior didn’t have protective plastic lining. It didn’t, and I assume that the smell was from the plastic casing. It has wobble on its base since it was brand new. It works fine and should last a while, but the quality of the product has not been thrilling. Just at the amount of problems and price point where return or warrantee fulfillment isn’t worth the trouble.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It’s awful! Poor design!

I bought this a year ago. I should’ve returned it right away. It’s a real disappointment. It’s loud, water leaks every time you pour, it has stopped working on & off....I’ve had Breville variable temp before this one which was wonderful til after 10 years, the top cracked. I am going by to shopping for a new electric kettle. I usually love kitchen aid products but NOT this kettle.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The kettle

The kettle is quick to heat the water, but is slightly loud when operating.
Overall, it works really well and it is not hot to the touch.
A few things would be nice additions...
The cord would be even better if it could retract.
Also, it would be nice for the kettle to be able to close off the spout to keep the water temperature hot for a longer period.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Used my Electric STAINLESS Kettle just 1.5 year and top of the Kettle already rusted.
I did not expect this kind of issue from KitchenAid
