[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Needed to get a replacement since heating elements did not always work correctly. Replacement process was easy. Some of the new features are not clear as to what they actually do.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the KitchenAid 2 Slice Long Slot Toaster when my old 4-Slot toaster died. I rarely used all 4 slots, so I opted for the 2-slice KitchenAid, and its working out well. The light to dark slider offers enough options. It toasts evenly. The slot is large enough to accommodate long slices from rustic loaves. And the toaster looks great. The only caveat is for the first 4 cycles, there was a chemical/plastic smell, but that has vanished.

So disappointing

Where to begin? The good - I have limited counter space in my kitchen and was attracted to the footprint of this toaster. It does fit well in my kitchen and I really like the look of it. It adds a nice pop of color. That being said, unless you are using sandwich type bread two slices do not fit in this toaster. More important it does not toast well. I have to put the control almost to the maximum to get a moderately toasted piece of bread. This is so disappointing from KitchenAid, a brand I have long trusted. I guess I'll have to look for a replacement.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fits great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this about a month and we use daily. It is a great size to fit "slim-ly" on the end of the counter. And looks good. But, we have to set at darkest setting PLUS push the "frozen" feature to get our sourdough bread to even come close to toasted without the bother of toasting twice. Getting used to it, but not quite what I'd hoped for. I trust it will last a LONG time, though, and that's why I settled on a Kitchenaide.
