Be Ready to Tend Your Toast
on November 17, 2019

I toast long slices of sour dough bread for breakfast. I have to set the toasting level all the way up to high. The ends of the bread get lightly browned and the middle has no color at all at the end of the cycle. If I toast it again to get the middle browned -- the ends get burned. So I break the bread in half removing an end that is "done" and put the balance of the piece back in for a second toasting making sure to place the undone middle section towards an end of the toaster slot. My son told me he never knows what to expect when the toast is done. I may as well be toasting my bread over an open fire -- about as reliable a result. Please note the position of the toasting control is set on high. The other side of the bread looks the same.

Toaster did not work at all

My wife and I returned our just purchased Kitchenaid 2-Slice long slot toaster w. Highlift because it did not work at all. We have also just ordered another exact duplicate Kitchenaid toaster, review to follow. Of the 25 reviews of this toaster on the Kitchenaid site, 22 were sponsored by Kitchenaid. Of the 3 reviews not sponsored by Kitchen, two were 1 star reviews. Since Kitchenaid chooses to promote and include sponsored reviews, it should also allow potential customers doing reliability research to screen out sponsored reviews using the “Sort by” review screening tools. Very disappointing product and customer review feature.

Terrible toaster

This toaster is terrible. After enjoying a KitchenAid long slot toaster for over 17+years, I enthusiastically replaced it with this model. I like the long narrow design. No matter the setting, bread does NOT toast. Bread is warmed with spotty pale toasted sections. Press the “toast longer” butter.....no change. It you like barely warmed doughy bread, this toaster is for you. But, take a pass if you like golden toasted bread.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was expecting the toaster to work better than my old Cuisinart but it doesn't work as well. Save your money. I had to send the first one back because it didn't toast and the second one isn't much better.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Drys out bread. Toasts too slowly. The Braun I threw out was far superior.

Doesn’t Toast at All!

I bought this about two months ago (~OCT 2018) and it doesn’t toast worth a darn. Good thing I hadn’t donated my old Breville yet; have decided to keep it and donate the Kitchenaid toaster. Cool design; that’s about it. Don’t waste your money.

Very nice toaster

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The fit and finish of this toaster are really excellent, and it does a beautiful job toasting bagels with its special bagel setting. Because of the single slot that is long and wide, you can fit large slices of round-loaf bread such as sourdough into it without a problem. Probably one of the nicest features is the "a little more" button which, if you press it, toasts your bread just a little bit more (rather than operating a full additional toasting cycle) so you can get your toast just the way you want it. Its long and narrow shape seems to take up very little counter space. Overall, very nice.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Perfect Toast at Last!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like my new KitchenAid-2 Slice Long Slot Toaster, because it toast perfectly every time. It holds the bread while toasting, I had a two slot toaster for only one piece of bread and it never toasted right. Thanks KitchenAid, good idea for one slot!
