2-slice toaster

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been looking for a long time and finally decided to try this toaster, in red. I like the fact that it is slender and doesn't take up as much room on the counter. I am having some difficulty getting it to brown much at all when I have two slices of bread in it, I really hate to have to put it down a second time as it messes up my timing on have foods ready together

Long on Looks, Short on Function

I bought this unit to replace a 20 yr. old 2 slice model from KitchenAid that looked and functioned beautifully. Unfortunately, this one does not come close to meeting my expectations. In short, poorly designed for function - inadequate wattage / coils to toast in a reasonable time, function buttons unclear and difficult to see or clear if a mistake is made, inner toast support that will flex/bind if a thin slice is attempted, and a raised metal entry/exit surround that will burn you when attempting to remove anything other than large standard bread slices. Was this thing designed on a computer without any practical testing? Attractive on counter which gets it two stars, otherwise disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice Toaster

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the Empire red color on all the KitchenAid appliances and bought the long slot toaster because the regular 2 slot toaster only comes in a half red/half brushed metal look. The only issue is that it doesn't toast very dark and usually have to toast the bagel twice to get the darkness I want.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice toaster but the lever for darkness of toast is right next to the lever to lower the toast. Be careful or you adjust the darkness when you push the bread down. we will get used to it!

So disappointed

I was so excited to get this toaster to match my KitchenAid mixer, but this barely toasts anything at all and is so difficult to get the product out of the toaster. Literally have played with every setting, just can't get it too toast.

The worst toaster I have ever owned!! It want get the toast brown even if it’s on the darkest setting. I do love the color and size but would not recommend!!
