After my father dropped his from the roof 2 times, with no damage to the phone, I figured defender would work for me as well. I like the clip, as I don't have a pop socket on this one to hook it on my pants, it would be nice if the belt clip was removable for when i actually have a big enough pocket to stick the whole thing in. It has a nice lip on the top and bottom and is not as slick a back as the commuter case. I like that it is more grippy.
The screen protector though is annoying, it is ia a hair too high (yes its the otter box brand and I used the cool installer kit that came with it... but my dad and I both have bubbles at the top and looks like it would be perfect, but I wasn't willing to risk fingerprints or royally messing up the whole thing. He doesn'tuse the top of the screen aka it doesn't bother him).

Good: Very solid. Can charge wirelessly w/o removing case.
Bad: Heavier than my last case. Poor tactile feedback from power and volume buttons due to thick material covering the case

Although there is certainly going to be more material on a rugged case such as this, you should find those control button covers to ease up a bit with consistent use over time.
