[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Man, this thing helps me save paper AND lets me do my printing remotely all at the same time. I use it to print on my wireless network from my laptop, my almost smartphone and even my wife's iPad. I'm able to scan documents and email them to my customers in their preferred PDF format. What a Great addition to my homebased business.
It does all that I need, however with a few caveats. Caveat 1. You can only control the scanner function from the printer controls if you are using windows. MAC user as myself must control the printer scanner from the computer, Caveat 2. It will not print double sided with light card stick. Otherwise it is fine.
Excellent choice. I'm starting my own home based business and with the assistance of HP store I chose the HP MFP M428fdw with an extra paper tray. It was easy to set tray with correct size paper, and set to auto select . This printer is quick, can print double sided, fax, scan, and print quality is perfect.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice multifunction laser printer, I've had several in my office over the years. Most have been hp and last about 5 years with pretty much use. The only thing I don't like about this printer is the paper handling from the main tray. Things have to be put in upside down and facing away from the printer. This makes printing multiple checks in one batch a pain as you have to put your checks in the tray in reverse order.
This product was the worst purchase made. I was unable to print without the system jamming. I use the best quality print paper and I was still unable to print with out jams. After a few hours of trying to resolve the issue. I just called it a day and returned the product. I don't need 24 hrs to decide the product was a "lemon" and replaced the purchase with a better product BROTHER.

Extremely frustrating to set up. Continue to struggle w/ scan to email disabled. More than frustrating! Does not copy documents correctly. I believe I have a lemon w/o a doubt! Time sucking & costly. Paid networking expert & even he can’t figure it out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The printer (HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428fdn) is affordable and has amazing capabilities. The instructions to set up the printer on a local network are not sufficient however. I had to bring in my computer consultant.
