Excellent Pebble Replacement

I’m a longtime Pebble smartwatch user, and since they’ve gone out of business, I’ve been trying other smartwatches as replacements, and I keep going back to Pebbles, hoping they’ll keep working until something better comes along. The Vivoactive 3 is it! Apple Watch and Versa are nice devices, but I don’t really want a tiny phone on my wrist that’s a blank, black rectangle until I turn my wrist a certain way—and that needs to be charged every day or two. The V3 looks sharp and modern (nice to have a circle watch again), the touchscreen is nicely responsive, the feature set is exactly what I’m used to from the Pebble, and it’s all that I want. Connectivity to my iPhone so far is better than it used to be with Fitbits and Pebbles I’ve had, so that’s a bonus. Very happy after my first week of use.

Not what I had hoped for

Bought the vivoactive 3 music for multi activity tracking and for running without my phone. Watch worked great and everything was fine until I tried to use the Spotify without my phone. Entire process was glitchy and gave me problems every step of the way only for the music to pause every two seconds once everything was downloaded. Connectivity between my phone and watch was also a problem. Checked other reviews and others had similar complaints. Returned watch and bought Galaxy watch active and love it.

I was looking for a good watch that did most of the things my iwatch did. I have pretty small wrists and most watches for Android are huge. I came across this watch and liked the size. I've only had it for 3 days now so I can't give a full review. I have 4 stars cause it does everything I need it to do. I think a great improvement for this watch would be some side swipe gestures. I would like a faster way to get to Email and messages with out having to swipe up or down 10 ten times. (I know, very minor issue)

Better than expected

After one day in, I am thrilled with my vivoactive 3 music.
I have had a Tomtom spark cardio music for the last few years and was sorely disappointed when I couldn’t get another one after the battery failed. I read a bunch of reviews and came to either this or a Fitbit ionic. It seemed the reviews were a bit mixed for both. I settled for the Garmin hoping that my experience would be better than the reviews indicated. I LOVE it!
I had no trouble loading music, connecting to my headphones, linking to Strava, or anything else. Some of that stuff is a little complicated, but the instructions are clear, and I breezed through it.
My first run today went great, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience.
One downside- I think the watch itsel looks a little cheap. I really wish it looked the same as the non-music version.

Took me a minute, but....

I struggled to download the Spotify app until I completely read the directions. You must unplug the watch from the computer before the update will sync. User error! But, once I figured that out, it has worked perfectly since!!!!

Amazing Starter GPS watch

My wife bought this for me after I couldn't stop talking about it. She purchased it for me as a birthday present and as good motivation to start taking my workout routine more seriously. Set up was a breeze. I only had to watch 1 youtube video to help me upload music, mostly because why read the manual when you can just youtube it.
The music worked well pairing with my Skullcandy Bluetooth headphones and didn't have too much interference on my first run with just the watch and my headphones. Being able to leave my phone behind was awesome.
I only have one complaint. I normally wear a G-shock watch everyday, so i am used to a thicker wrist band, i wish there was an option to get a thicker wrist band for the watch. I did already order a second band that I hope will feel more like my G-shock setup.
Overall super happy with this product and would recommend it to a friend or family member.
