Great promise but...

I bought the Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music a couple of days ago based on several reviews and Youtubers. However, after purchasing the watch and getting up close, I had my concerns. First, the watch was very lightweight and I questioned durability, but decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. I downloaded the app and followed the account creation and pairing instructions, but after three attempts, the watch would not pair. I tried one last time and this worked. I completed set-up and watch received alerts from my phone. I liked the way it felt on my wrist, but decided not to sleep with it on that night. The next morning, I put it on and noticed that I was not getting any alerts and no weather. I checked to see if it was still paired with my smart phone and it was not. I tried all the support remedies, but was unsuccessful. I then read more reviews and other users echoed the same issues. Consequently, I returned it. This was going to replace my Samsung Gear 2 that had ceased working. I had hoped that the Vivoactive was going to be the replacement since I did not want to get another Samsung watch. With the failure of the Vivoactive, I am still without a watch; the search continues.

I love everything about the watch except the screen resolution/brightness. I tried several different watch faces and they were all dim, for me, despite turning up the brightness to 100%. The details on some of the watch faces we're very blurry, even with my glasses on. I don't have this issue with the smartwatch or fitness tracker that I have. It almost looks like the stickers that are put on display models, fake and blurry. For me, having a clear, bright, sharp image is a deal breaker. I will be returning unfortunately because I really love everything else about the watch.

The Garmin Vivoactive 3 music was my Christmas gift and I LOVE it!!! I can run without my phone and still listen to music and have gps accurately track me. When I’m not running, I wear it day and night (even in the shower) to track my steps, hr, sleep and stress levels. It does it all, looks great and holds its charge! I highly recommend this watch!!

Only useful for Deezer subscribers. Why spend more money in "music" Garmin models... Don't be fool

We understand that there are major players in music streaming that are currently not available and hope to be able to announce more compatible devices soon. Garmin is not able to force any music provider to come on board as this requires development from both Garmin, as well as the music provider. We hope to be able to meet the needs of all of our customers, regardless of what music service they use, but this will take time.
Love the watch. Lots of fun features that you can customize to you. Only thing I dislike is the sensitivity to steps. Seems to pick up steps riding in the car and other sedentary activities.
