[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great laptop but the maxQ is a bit of a performance hit its more like a 2060 to 2070, keyboard is great the color profile software is very customizable. charger brick is absolutely gigantic, and battery life is weak. this is not a mobile laptop but it works great for gaming on the couch. The fans can be a bit loud when gaming. The camera sucks its an absolute potato.
I’ve had this laptop for a couple of weeks now, and my first impressions are great: it’s just what I thought it would be. I’ve never had a 17 inch laptop before, and the extra room really seems to allow them to build in good cooling, good sound, and of course a good screen (which actually opens all the way up to 180°, which I like). Also runs everything I’ve tried on the Oculus Rift S without breaking a sweat. So far, everything just works.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The buying experience was good. But. After the laptop arrived, I have had 3 different video issues that appear at unpredictable times. Plus one other problem. 1 - The screen will suddenly have hundreds of floating shifting squares that only go away after a reboot 2 - The screen will suddenly go bright, kick me out of what every program or game I am in. I can restart programs fine after this happens. But the brightness controls no longer work. 3 - After putting the computer to sleep. I will come back, both with the screen closed or up. The computer will be actively running with the brightness bug happening.
I have spent hours updating drivers, updating bios and checking settings. Nothing has worked.
