Easy to setup, touch screen is really nice. Only put about 20 miles on it so far. Still learning all the features.

Works Great

Overall this has been a great computer. Very accurate and has everything on it that I use to track my bike rides. My only complaint is it does have issues syncing sometimes. Once you disconnect the device in the app and reconnect it though everything seems to work again for a while.

Worst purchase of the year

Supper buggy.
I own a garmin 735xt watch with chest strap and an inReach mini. I was interested in going with a Garmin cycling computer as to not deal with additional apps. First time using it I had to disconnect it from my phone to stop an obnoxious beep that is tied into the emergency contact crash alert. Second time I used it the 830 froze and lost 10 miles of my ride. I had to repeatedly download my strava maps as they would sometimes not down load when I would drag and drop them into the garmin folder when the device was attached to my computer. Nutrition info is awesome if it bothers to track the ride. The resolution of mapping on my phone is better than the garmin, I could suck that up as the battery life is way better on the 830 than my phone but here I am 3rd try I turned on the gps, it froze, I tried to turn it off and it froze on the power down screen. I plugged in the device tried to turn on, no go. Left it for 10 min and unplugged and it stared. I feel like I would be better off carrying an extra power pack for my phone. Currently looking into possibility of return.

The unit still has some bugs to work out, and has frozen up during rides, but is a solid unit and I can't wait to see how it improves.

I have not had to opportunity to test this in the elements but in good weather I love it. Easy to navigate and lots of great information integrating with my vector pedals. Screen size is also just right. Upgraded from 520 to 830 and I would recommend in a heartbeat.

Great device, the "30" series is a vast improvement over the older series

Great battery, great screen, works flawless. we sold our 820's and replaced with 830's due to the vast improvements. Ditch your 820 or older and get the new "30" series you won't be disappointed. Garmin finally fixed all the bugs

Small, fast and mighty!

Based on my experience with this unit, I'm not sure why Garmin would even bother with the 530/1030. It has all the features of the 1030 in the size and weight of the 530. For some it might be too small to click and read on...but for others it's tons of data with less grams. The operating system is so much faster than the 1030. The look and feel is just outstanding. Such a big fan of this product. My favorite feature is probably Climb Pro. I did a century ride with 8000 ft. of climb recently. It did a great job of breaking up the distance into consumable portions to help me get through the day.
I think there is opportunity for improvement on the Strava integration and the GPS tracking. Strava works well when you know where the segment is. It doesn't work well when following Strava routes. The GPS/Maps in general is sometimes just a head scratcher. Know where you are going...no problem. When you don't...sometimes you just end up riding back and forth trying to find the course that you swear you were following correctly. Forget about it if you have a Strava segment of Climber Pro turned on. It can be super frustration.

This is great to track personal progress in cycling. I use it every training ride and in competition.
