Great features

I'm a fan of the edge products. This one is real nice. However, it will intermittently "pause" for a second or two whil I'm in motion. I don't know why. I called and waited forever to speak with someone so I just hung up. I'll try again.

the new touchscreen works flawlessly...even in the rain!! the activity screens are easy to set up and change. the maps are very easy to read also !

Perfect to keep me on track

I bought this computer at the start of the riding season, and I love it. I ride distances of 50 to 75 miles and like to take new roads and explore. I program a route on the web site load it into my 830 and I'm off. I've intentionally taken different turns sometimes to see what's down a new road. The 830 gets me back to my route and back home safely. I love the turn by turn directions that warn me of an upcoming turn. It works perfectly with my iPhone to deliver text messages and caller id while I'm out.
The battery life is excellent ans has never been a problem even when I forget to charge it after a ride.

I have been riding a 510 for quit a while. It has been a fantastic computer, and remains so today. This summer (2019) I purchased a couple of new gravel bikes for my wife and myself - new bikes need new computers ( or so I justified.) I purchased an 830 for each of us - what a great upgrade! By limiting screen data the larger display is fantastic for my aging eyes. Color maps, turn by turn navigation, trail warnings, the 830 has it all. We're very pleased with our decision to go Garmin...again!

Lack of feature

Actually I'm very disappointed due to the inability to get a course from the Garmin Connect App to the device. I had to connect my 830 directly to my laptop (with a cable) and furthermore- only one course at the time can be downloaded and remain in the device.
We had a 4 day group riding at Spain and i had to deal with it every evening while my other friends which had 1030 got it with no problem at all....
