Super upgrade to my old 800. Easy to use, easy to read, easy to upload. This version does a lot more than I have tapped into, and I have not grown into all it's features, but look forward to more exploring the added features.

Love the 830

Used to have the 820 and found the battery life to be absolutely terrible. The 830 is a huge upgrade both in terms of battery life and touchscreen ease. Even when I have used it for navigation, the battery life has been excellent. And when I have used it for navigation while bike touring, it has been flawless. Really happy with this unit.

GPS is spot on. Incident detect provides peace of mind although occasional false alarms. Touchscreen is not ideal for cold WX/winter riding, but not overly cumbersome.

Excellent product

Setup was super simple as it migrated from my Garmin 810 so I did not have to go thru all the setup. Color screen is great. The base brightness is a little low and hard to see in the sunlight. There may be a setting for that that I have not found yet. The start stop button on the lower right is a little hard to access with some handlebar mounts (K Edge). Wifi upload is very reliable and quick. Overall, great unit!

The Edge 830 provides all the metrics I want to see mid-ride with easily customized layouts. Post-ride details are great to view on my phone or computer and give me plenty of motivation for the next ride.

A Must Have

10/10 would recommend. This computer easily pairs with my watch, speed sensor, and cadence sensor (all Garmin). Building custom data screens, uploading routes (or saving previous routes), and navigating the menus is very easy/intuitive. Easy to see in bright/sunny conditions too. With the Garmin app and wifi connectivity, rides are easily uploaded to Strava as well.

I went from the Garman 520 plus to this and I am glad I upgraded. It is easy to use and I really like the touch screen, which makes it easy to use while on a ride. It has a lot of great features. I would recommend it for anyone who rides a lot.
