Excellent MTB computer.

This is a great bike computer for both road and mountain biking. It's especially useful when your out on unfamiliar trails, as it tells you the trail names and of course has detailed maps of the area. The display is easy to read, even in the sunlight. Overall, I've been very happy with it.

I use this device as a general GPS for all kinds of outdoor activities in addition to cycling like hiking, camping, and backcountry canoeing. On multiday trips I just keep it off except when I get lost and there's no issue with the battery life. The advanced features like performance tracking are limited to cycling, and you can't create or track non-cycling courses on the device. You can track whatever you're doing though and change the activity type on Garmin Connect or Strava after uploading to your phone. This model also allows control of my indoor cycling smart trainer, which is nice. You can even upload a cycling course and it will simulate it. There is a bit of learning curve with the interface. Overall great product with sophisticated features for cycling and basic utility for any type of outdoor activity.

The Garmin Edge 830 is a complete bike GPS in the true sense of the word. I appreciated its comfort in use and its bright screen that adapts to the surrounding environment. I liked the various indicators offered and the functions dedicated to training.
The navigation is impeccable and the information provided is very useful. I give a plus for the autonomy of 20 hours with the GPS mode. The interface is pleasant and fluid, no difficulty in handling this device.
The speed of the processor is simply bluffing, difficult to do better. The fact that TrailForks data dedicated to mountain biking is integrated is a plus.

I like the convenience of it connecting through my phone, but I wish the display was as programmable as the Oregon 700 that I have been using for years for the same purpose. I also like having the speed sensor for when it takes awhile to find the satellites.

I purchased the 830 sensor bundle last summer. I ride for fitness and need a heart rate monitor as well as a cycling computer for metrics. I absolutely love the real time data on the bike. I ride in the area I've lived for over 50 years so I don't need a GPS for "navigation" since I kinda know my way around. But the interaction with Strava and the ride segments is awesome.
I thought this was such a great product I bought a second 830 MTB bundle for my son and he's amazed at everything it does in the dirt for him

I love this computer for the size and the performance I was able to connect the speedometer and heart monitor to it along with other items such as a music player st the time. Very versatile and very durable. Water resistant which was a plus on the east coast.
