Best(and first) head unit ever!

Absolutely love this head unit. It has exactly what you need it to and more but not in A complicated or clunky way. It definitely does give better benefit than just trying to use your phone or even having used a Garmin watch before the head unit really makes a difference when cycling for navigation tracking metrics and just overall convenience. Having turn by turn directions in a heads up or at least easily readable display while on ride that also is able to self correct and get you back on track when you definitely make that wrong turn has been a huge plus when exploring new areas or even trying just a new sidetrack on your regular route. I'm excited to put this is a test on larger tours and see how the battery life handles on multi day tracks but for single day rides are just long endeavors it holds up fantastic being USB chargeable makes it easy to also charge on the go as needed with a battery pack solar panel or whatever mobile method of charging you have. I was really glad I went with the 830 versus the 520 the touchscreen makes it a lot easier to quickly change between screens to figure out what your last lap time was or when your next turn is. It's also a huge plus when using a map or trying to figure out if they're for a detour as you can fluidly look around and see where you may connect.

There is no comparison for bike computers. I worked as a bike tech for nine years and have been riding for fifty something years and I will not ride any of my bikes without a Garmin Edge on the bars.

Small But Loaded!

This was an upgrade a previously Garmin Edge device and I should have upgraded sooner. It provides me with pretty much everything I could need for training for bike races, triathlons, and endurance mountain bike events. I am really pleased with the quality and the integration with my other Garmin devices. Very happy with this product and look forward to using it many years to come just as I did my last Garmin Edge device.

I really enjoy the touch screen, I feel it allows you too go through the different menus vs the buttons. I also really like the turn by turn directions and the fact that I can download my routes ahead of time on the Garmin.

Edge 830 - Cycling nerds best friend

This cycling computer is just what I was looking for. Overall compact, but the screen never feels small while I'm glancing down to check my data. I use mine with the HRM Dual to track all of my rides and love the feature rich post ride summaries.

Solid bike computer just use it for mountain biking and touring/bikepacking though.
