A leap forward!

I went from an Edge 820 to the 830. The 820 had insufficient battery life and suffered from some erratic scrolling issues. The 830 battery life is incredible and performance is rock solid. Not only can I use it for all day rides, but I can also run navigation of a course as well as use all the features new to the 830 like Climb Pro. Other new features like the mountain bike metrics are really fun too.

Lots of useless features like complimenting you when you jump and reminding you to drink but the screen is difficult to read in daylight, the workout page is terrible and hasn’t been updated in years, and the touchscreen still doesn’t work half the time. Actually returned my device and bought a Wahoo Roam. Less features but they work nicely as they should. Too bad Garmin. Been using your products for many years but not anymore.

I love this item! It was easy to understand and set up and the touchscreen is awesome! I paired it with a Varia radar and love them both! Much safer for me on the country roads

The computer was purchased after a 1030 failed. The 830 has some attractive features, but unfortunately they do not predictably work. As a stand alone bike computer it is fine, but connectivity issues persist and are unpredictable. I have been a Garmin customer for years, but I am losing patience.

I've had a lot of Garmins in the past and they all had issues that I had to wait for software to fix. Not this one. It worked great since I first turned it on.

I purchased the HR bundle, everything is accurate, the battery on the unit lasts for several all day uses, the programmable screens and profiles are great, I have mounts on 3 different bikes and I just change the profile to the one I'm on, moving through the functions is a bit confusing sometimes but there are several independent videos to help with that, the online manual is very handy as well, the connect software is great, it will send info to many of the major tracking sites and will track everything could possibly need, overall the Edge 830 is perfect for me and I would purchase it again if I damage mine

I purchased the Edge 830 under the recommendation of an experienced RAAM cyclist. And his advice was SPOT ON!! I've used it on several century rides and very pleased with my purchase.
