it's great option!

I have a Garmin Fenix 5X and a Edge 830, my new gadget is the Edge 830.
I used to have a wahoo too, I thought it was great. It is a very good option, I consider that it is very complete, its battery and its functionality is excellent, the summary after each mounted is exceptional.
I find it a bit slow to learn to use the touch screen, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes the perfect tool.

Like the edge, not easy to get all features workin

Bought the edge 830 and rally pedals to watch. It is a great power meters d all the data from the pedals and computer provides outstanding data to improve your ride. The issues I am having are as follows: routes and using Strava rides, can’t figure how to sync the 830 to Strava rides. It shows a link on the 830, but can’t get to link. Heart rate broadcasting from garmin watch to 830 and the data included in stats, can’t figure out how heart rate data can be included in ride data when everything seems to be connected but heart rate data does not show up in the ride stats. This causes train data, load and weekly intensity data issues. How can I fix? Big issue for me

Terrible GPS

I have not been happy with this device since new. The GPS is so bad that I had to end up getting a speed sensor so I can get correct speed. The GPS for some reason wasn't even close to correct usually. The only positive is the touch screen is 1000% better than the even worse 820. That thing was a real clunker.

Pleasantly surprised!

I have a 1030 but I forgot it at home when I was traveling for a ride. I stopped at a bike shop and this was as close to my 1030 as they had. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the display was to read. It was easy to pair with my ANT+ and Bluetooth devices. The colors were easy to see on maps and the radar display. Customizing the display was easy. I had the whole thing set up for my ride in about 15 minutes. The charge lasted well past my ride. It's definitely a keeper. I would recommend it to both experienced and beginner riders.

Serious connectivity issues with sensors

My Edge worked great for about a year and then it started repeatidly "dropping" sensors. On line I saw that this was a general problem and not just me. I have followed all of the suggested "fixes" and it still does not work. I now use my Apple Watch for my heart beat and can no longer reply on my radar. Stay away from this seriously flawed model!!!

Perfect Unit for Stats

I love this unit - upgraded from an Edge 520 a couple of years ago. Battery life is great, love the touchscreen, which was a major reason I got it rather than the 530, and there are more screen setup and stat options than I o ow how to use! I don’t use the mapping function but I understand it is excellent also. Quick processor forms a network with my Garmin lights and sensors for excellent all around data collection.

Perfect Size and Features

New Bike, New Garmin has always been my philosophy. I had a Edge 1020 and an Edge 530 to go with my other bikes. The new Colnago got a new Edge 830. Perfect size, bright screen, and just the features I want. Edge 1020 format is a little too large to make sense on aero-handlebars. Highly recommended.
