I enjoy this gps but would like to know how to handle a route I have loaded but I have to ride 5 or 6 miles to the start do the route and have all miles count as one

i bought my garmin to relace my garmin 520 and love it, just still learning all those great features that this one dose.

My Edge 830

I replaced an old 820 with the 830. I like its features and size. I was using it with an aftermarket holder made of medal and the grade was slow to change. Garman told me to use the holder that came with it. I am and the grade changes about normal now.

Chargin Issues

When i plugged the item to charge started to charge backwords, example from 70 to 0 and later read 100% charged after that start dropped the charge quckly withouth been use, very disappointed.

Garmin 810 replacement

This 830 replaces my 810. The 830 is much easier to see my data and the touchscreen is much smoother.

Nice package, but some glitches not expected with

I keep having to revert back to 8.10 firmware because later releases do not engage the Fazua drive on my Trek eCalibur. Even 8.10 sometimes has bluetooth protocol issues when my phone is first connected before the Fazua drive. Seems to be picky about the order in which connections are made. Also the 830 connects to the first Fazua it sees, so sometimes my 830 connects to my husband's bike. We have to separate at start up.
Not the quality control I expect from Garmin.
Otherwise fantastic features in a small package.

Did not link with phone

I bought this hoping to use it for navigational purposes. However, this device would not link with my iPhone (which is a 12Pro Max, so not out of date), but it did link with my friend's iPhone, even Garmin tech support could not resolve the issue.

Nice features

If you can understand how best to use it. No heart display, to just take a ride see your vitals and train it is very hard to set that up. Other then that I believe if and when you get it down it will be great to have for safety, and all it says.
