very good yet not perfect

The device helped to navigate throughout the intended bike trail. However the response from clicking on the screen doesn't do anything. I had to click multiple times which is annoying. I also would like to see the remaining distance on the screen. Finally the screen was hard to see during bright sunny day here in SoCal. The device is still useful so I will keep it but I am looking forward to the improved version of this device.

great features but directions are hard

I bought the Edge 830 about 3 weeks ago and have been using it almost daily. As with any new device, it takes a few times to understand how it works. Now that I have the basics down, I really like it. When navigating, the maps are accurate and responsive. If I'm just out for a joy ride, then the data screens keep me well informed about my course. It adds a whole new dimension to cycling that I didn't know I was missing. And I've just barely scratched the surface, because it does many more things which I've not even gotten to yet. I look forward to each ride, beginning with starting the Garmin Connect app, followed by the Edge 830. Then away we (dog and me) go!

Fixed everything wrong with the 820

A faster CPU can now finally keep up with the software it runs so the interface is much quicker. It wakes up quickly and connects to the sensors much more reliably. The pull down quick menu interface is very helpful and Navigation finally works in real time. It still is difficult to wend through their unintuitive nested menus for setup. The battery life is much better, especially with a bunch of sensors and a varia connected - hopefully it stays that way. The alarm is useless - volume is too low to hear it 20 feet away.

Lighting fast at computing

Over the years I have moved through a lot of Garmin products as my needs increased. Each one has been better and more intuitive than last . The speed of the touch screen and ease of reading is a huge plus . Very happy

Can’t see

Garmin seems to have forgotten that not all of us have 20/20 vision or can see a screen that bounces around on rough roads. The font is way too small. My old Edge 800 was much easier too read.
