User Friendly

My husband bought me this Garmin and I am NOT one to like learning gadgets or technology. However, I did want the information to help improve my rides. I was very much surprised with how user friendly it is. Even I was able to sync it up to Strava on my own. Very happy with his decision of gifting me this Edge 830 and I would highly recommend.

Simple to set up, loaded with features

Out of the box simple to get going. Tons of features, takes some time to just explore screen by screen. Touch screen is a nice upgrade, and works well.

Not user friendly for first time owner.

I just purchase an 830 Edge but I have it set up, so I can't speak to performance. However, I am a total beginner, and if it wasn't for 1 specific video on YouTube (not a video from Garmin) and help from my friend Larry, I would have no idea how to set it up. Garmin has minimal videos about setting up and/or using their product for first time owners and/or technologically challenged (I am 69 years old, so didn't grow up with computers) like myself. Most (if not all) of the people I ride with are the older generation (retirees). It would be nice if Garmin could put together a series of very dumbed down videos explaining how to set up the Garmin, what all that info is for and why you would use it.
