Connecting to I-phone issues

I was very excited to get the Garmin 830. I followed the instructions for the connection to the Garmin Connect App, and it didn’t work. It literally took 3 days, numerous attempts, and several YouTube videos before I could get it connected. Once connected, it seems to work fine. I fear the day that it disconnects. I would suggest that you review your instructions, make them correct, and fix any bugs.

Documentation is not adequate

Disappointing Start ...

I ordered the Garmin 830 with high expectations. However, on my first ride it could not maintain a satellite single and was extremely difficult to pair with an iPhone. In comparison, the Wahoo Bolt I was attempting to replace worked out of the box. I applied a software update to the 830, which oddly enough required connecting to a computer via USB which is unheard of in Wahoo-land. I am hoping this remedies the problem otherwise I am returning the device. Regardless, Garmin has a lot to learn about user experience.

Nice unit but the screen is a bit smaller that the 800 that I used to have.
Lots of new features and screens to get used to.

Wonderful upgrade

I had the 810 and upgraded to 830. Thrilled with new features, easier to read, better maps, and overall quality. My wife loves that it has incident detection, although we have never needed it (yet). Also good service and advice from Garmin. Glad I upgraded.

I really love my device. As a shareholder, I’m really proud of it! I look forward to improvements on the touch screen although it still works very well. It added another level of happiness to my rides!

Excellent customer service and product!

I received my first Garmin as a gift from my husband several years ago. It was an Edge 810. It was the “bomb diggity!” So many features, the mapping especially. I relied on it heavily. Recently I upgraded to the Edge 830. The screen is easy to read in any light conditions - I do most my riding pre dawn before work. The alerts are a delight! Weather and sharp turn alerts were a pleasant surprise. I know I’m going to enjoy this product more and more every day.
