I have been using this edge 830 for a few months and super glad I upgraded from my old computer. Love the infinite possibilities for data viewing.

Great Navigation features—easy to read and appreciate the turn-by-turn tones.
Wish it better integrated with my Garmin fenix 6X Sapphire and Lose It! App. I have to discard the Activity recorded on the Edge and keep the fenix or it will double count in Lose It!

This is the best Garmin yet. I have used other Garmin bike computers, but this is my favorite by far. I love the touchscreen, all the metrics, and all the devices that I can attach to the computer. Excellent and worth every penny.

Great features, UI is a little in-intuitive.

So I really like the 830 but, in my opinion, it’s not a significant upgrade from my 820 that I broke. The button sequences to manage different settings and menus is a pain so now that I have it set up I don’t mess with it.

Climb pro helps me feel comfortable taking on new challenges. I've started paying more attention to how and when I eat and drink on the bike thanks to hydration/nutrition prompts. Edge 830 is helping me become a better cyclist. I highly recommend!

Edge 830

I received this device as a Father's Day gift. I hqveejoyed it, but as is typical with Garmun Devices, it has had it's ups and downs. The new features and battery life are great. The sensor, phone connection and live track drop outs are not. Overall it does what I need, but having to reconnect the sensors before every ride gets tedious. Hopefully they can resolve it with the next update. There is always hope.

Garmin 830 review

Previously owned 810, about 6 years old. Features on 830 way above 810. Like all the metrics added regarding performance on each ride. Screen is brighter. Screens more stable against accidental touch. Power button is better. Seems to charge faster. Have Vector 2, and Sram E-Tap Axs 2 by 12. Choice of screen details extensive. Concerned about longevity of cover door on charging port. Ride 5 or 6 times per week, summer and winter, and charge after each ride. If the 830 lives as long as my old 810, can't imagine the charging door hanging in there. Lap and start/stop buttons seem almost recessed. May be hard to operate with long finger gloves this winter. Another month till I start using long finger gloves. Not using a protective jacket on 830. Had one on 810, but never dropped it. Not using it, but like being able to add an external booster battery. All in all, very happy with 830.

This Garmin has become an essential part of my cycling kit. Ease of use, navigation and intuitive features has increased my enjoyment of riding. Coupled with heart rate and cadence, my workouts are much more focused. I ride a lot of gravel in the middle of nowhere and I feel more secure knowing I can always find my way out. Highly recommend!
