Pre-loaded navigation actually works with the 530, and it acquires satellites almost instantly.

Has a lot of features / very specialized - has a bit of "Kitchen Sink" feel to it

About me: I am a casual rider that enjoys gadgets and connected workout data. I was interested in this item as I had heard good things from other riders (more serious than me) and I am doing more biking these days.
First, this is truly a feature rich bike computer but it is very pricey compared to other options on the market. As far as I can tell it is way more robust than those other offerings so the Edge series seems to be playing in space by itself so it may be worth the $. This unit has a lot of functionality built into it and once you get it set up and get familiarized with some of its quirks, it does a good job. I do like the fact that Garmin has included features for many different types of riders (Road, Mountain, serious and casual) in to one unit as opposed to making specialized units for each of those sets of users. It would be annoying to have to purchase a different computer for different types of bikes to get the full set of functionality for that style of riding.
I've used various Garmin products before (GPS units and InReach) and I find that Garmin does not typically have the most user friendly software. This product has a better set of software (OS, App, web portal) better than the InReach family of devices - that product set feels like it was last updated in the Windows 3.1 era. That said, the Edge product set software design feels a bit cluttered and not very intuitive which may be due to the pure number of features and flexibility Garmin has managed to stuff into this device. The app for this tool is pretty good, building routes I found was particularly intuitive. I would like to see a way to set up and manage data screens via the app, as opposed to building these up on the device. I found this process to be quite cumbersome on the edge.
I got the sensor package, with speed, cadence and heartrate. I chose to go with a 3rd party heart rate monitor I could use on my wrist as opposed to a full chest strap. All these items paired up with my edge beautifully. Also paired are my iPhone and Garmin Vario headlight.
The post-ride data mining and sharing features are fairly robust and I look forward to spending more time playing with these features. I was happy to see that this unit / app passed data back to Apple Health as I am user of that system. I really wish Garmin would play nicer with Apple and not just send data over to apple, but also pull in data (weight, workout history among others) to make the ecosystem even more useful.

Always loved Garmin products, had an edge 510 until I got this one. Love the upgrades and performance. It has almost too many functions for me, but they don't get in the way for simple use.

I retired my Edge 520 after 5 years and purchased the Edge 530. Its capabilities are great and I find the user interface quite easy. The battery life is super impressive!
I do still wish that Garmin could keep up with Wahoo and enable .fit files and other rides to be loaded directly onto the head unit from an app, without having to use a computer!
