I've had any number of Garmin head units for cycling, most recently the 520. I've been using the 530 for training and racing for about 3 months now and it's been fantastic. The upgrades from the 520 are well worth making the change. Lots of new features and although its a bit bigger (15 to 20%???) it has not been really a big deal as i know that size and weight matters to most serious riders. The Garmin App and interface with Training Peaks is seamless and offers a lot of new data if you choose to utilize it. Bottom line, you will not be disappointed!

the installation link to update the device does not work properly. Clicking on the Install link sync the device but the Install link remains on.

Love the 530! The connection to the lights and radar is awesome! I use it for road and MTB right now. Probably use it indoors when the the weather gets awful and I’m sure it’s won’t disappoint!

I am loving the new Edge! I really enjoy it asking me about my fluid and calorie intake and giving me feedback on where/what it should have been! The maps are SO nice, no more getting lost on trails! Thank you Garmin

Great! When it works

I rode with this all summer until a small accident broke the mounting plate off the back. To the credit of Garmin, they are replacing the unit for a lower cost than the original cost. The original software was erratic and buggy. Sometimes the unit would not turn on or off. Sometimes the unit would record the ride, but then delete it before it synced. The recent update made the unit more reliable. I hope it will keep getting better

Features are great but software isn’t stable. Preferred the touchscreen on previous models.

I am disappointed so far with two items. When you are done with a ride the Garmin 530 will not be able to sync with the Garmin app and download to Strava. You need to connect to your computer. You need to fix that. 2nd when you turn on the computer and it is still after a while it will just start to record time. Please let me know what I can do to like my 530!
