I got my Garmin Edge 530 about three weeks ago! I have it synced with my mountain bike trails aps and it is amazing! It does everything it promises and more! Super durable, super easy to use and the screen is awesome, crystal clear and perfect size!! I couldn’t be happier and would recommend it all day everyday!!

Bike shop "recommended" I have this. it's ok, but not exactly user friendly. Touch screen would be much easier.

Display is better than the 520 and it works well enough. I don't care for the Garmin interface anymore since using a Wahoo, only went back as a devise I planned on using only was compatible with Garmin. The interface is the common, clunky, complicated beep fest of confusion, but it does work.

Fantastic best GPS on the market! Visability with larger screen very helpful, ability to customize main screen is spot on, the 530 provides more than enough metrics for pros, the 530 is an Epic GPS! Footnote gps signal should be fully aquired before starting ride, if not electro-magnetic signals near an air field or marina may impact accuracy.

It works as expected. I did switch from a Pioneer so there is a learning curve. The reason for the switch is because there isn’t a direct integration with the Garmin App. Yes, why does that matter...I have a 935 for running. So want all the data in one place. Two things I like better about the Pioneer- touch screen management and you can enlarge a specific field on the screen. This is more important if your eye sight isn’t that good. Just food for thought for Garmin

Currently can only upload data and rides on WiFi when I get home from a ride. Apparently there’s been phone syncing issues for months by what I’ve seen on the forums. I have to turn off my WiFi and BT on my phone so that it will upload over the WiFi at my home. Can’t say that I’ve been able to use the gps yet either. Making routes is quite tedious in the app. The edge 530 feels like using a cell phone from 15 years ago. I should have opted for one of the touch screen models. But, already felt like I was spending too much on an antiquated device.

Great Device; Not so great App

I’m a huge lover of Garmin devices; they tend to be intuitive, long lasting, and are back with great customer services. The biggest annoyance I have with the 530 is the inability to set a custom HR cap alert. On my Garmin 920xT I’m able to set a custom number, but on this computer I’m confined to my zones. The only other complaint I have is the Bluetooth connection is finicky. Sometimes it’s seamless, sometimes it takes me 10minutes to get it to work. Otherwise, the product is built solidly, navigates easily and is relatively customizable. It makes a world of difference to have the data I need to train clearly visible right in front of me.
