Much needed Upgrade. The 530 has everything I need

Fantastic purchase! I had the 520 and my battery started to die quicker (less than 3hrs into my rides). Having had it for over 5 years I decided to upgrade to the 530 and I'm glad I did! I ride 115-18hours/week and only charge it once a week. I appreciate all the new functionalities that weren't available with the 520. It's a fun bike computer to use. I highly recommend it.

Perfect size, features and battery life, hard to use navigation
on March 7, 2023

This is an ideal mountain biking computer. It's not too big, has seamless Trailforks integration, and automatically brings up the map when you stop. This saves tons of time and button presses at trail junctions in unfamiliar networks. I've found it invaluable for destination biking. I've never had an issue with sensor connectivity across three different power meters, two heart rate monitors, and a smart trainer. Battery life is good for many more hours of riding than I'm good for. I've done three consecutive days of 3-hour rides without charging.
The only drawback is that the buttons-only interface falls on it's face when trying to pan or zoom on the map or doing anything with navigation besides just following a route. And the default MTB profile beeps at you every time your tires leave the ground which is gimmicky and distracting but easily disabled.
Overall a nearly perfect device for MTB, just keep your phone handy for browsing a map or editing navigation.

Good stuff!

3 months in and computer is great! A little bit more complex to use than a Wahoo I had previously but once I got used to how it works I am having no issues. Integration with Di2, Wahoo speed sensor, Dura Ace power meter, Varia Radar, and Garmin Connect app was flawless.

Still awesome

I'm dumb and left my old one on the roof of my car. Setting up the replacement was super easy, I only had to customized the menus again. Overall, easy to go from one garmin unit to a new one. I'm impressed by that.

500 mile update
on February 22, 2023
Posted by: Ranson V
I've had this item for 500 miles, and overall it's been a game-changer for my riding. I've enjoyed having the data and using it for navigation.
The Cons: My scroll buttons are pretty iffy and seem to be losing their integrity, they feel pretty cheap and feel could give up on me at any moment. Other than that it's a solid device and great battery power. The other Con is the Garmin Connect UI is not great, but it works. It feels very enterprisey and outdated.
I have not used this on a bikepacking trip which was the intended use. I will update once that happens.
