Awesome Features!

I bought my Edge 530 in June and have over 40 rides with it. I really like the ability to create a route on Trailforks and load it on my 530 and navigate the route. I like the MTB dynamics as well. Easy to use and tons of info. Auto uploads to my Connect and Strava.

Great upgrades for a great price

Everything works good except it doesn’t download workouts automatically like 520 did to Garmin Connect. Now you have turn off & turn back on unit.

It won’t pair with my new iPhone 11. Have followed special Garmin page set up for for iPhone problems. Still doesn’t work and no reply from support.

Good unit, but buggy when it comes to bluetooth

I've had many Garmins (Edge 800, Edge 510, Edge 520, Fenix 3) and this is the best one so far. It seems all of them have issues with bluetooth. I suppose it could parially be the phones' faults, but I don't have issues connecting to any other bluetooth devices. All in all the navigation is solid. The new metrics such as grit, and flow will be fun to use for comparisons when riding trails multiple time. I like that they split out training effect in to aerobic and anaerobic. The screen is nice and bright, buttons are responsive, and the menus are easy to navigate. I just wish it would connect to my phone EVERY time.

Very good - just shy of great!

I’ve been using for 2 months. The good includes an easy to read screen, support for a ton of devices, huge number of metrics you can leverage, and super Di2 integration. The low points in my experience are:
1) sometimes sensors get disconnected mid ride. They can be really hard to get reconnected. This is really annoying.
2) uploads are tricky and don’t always work. Same with downloading new software. Only really reliable method is to hook it up to my computer with a USB cable. Honestly the Wahoo Element Bolt is much better in this regard. It’s 2019 - connectivity without a computer wire should be a robust feature.
3) the buttons can be a bit tricky. They don’t always make positive contact. I also think they could be a bit more tactile rather than smooth plastic.
Overall, I give it an 8/10.

Repeatedly Froze Up :-(

My Edge 820 became unresponsive after a few years of very gentle use so I bought an Edge 530. Great look/features/price and tons of data and dashboards to review, but the unit kept freezing up on me after a few uses. This is the same problem I had with the 820.
Garmin, your software is too buggy for me. I’ve moved on to a different brand. It doesn’t have as fancy of an interface, but it gives me more than enough information and is dead nuts reliable. I wanted to stick with you, but I’m glad I’ve moved on.

Documentation resources could be better
on October 11, 2019

I purchased this unit to pair with a Quarq power meter (this is my first Edge bike computer). I have a several Garmin watches so have familiarity with the Garmin Connect interface, etc. Overall, the Edge 530 has been fairly intuitive to set up and use. However, I suspect I am just scratching the surface of the functionality of the 530. The documentation that came with the unit and, surprisingly, the information on line is quite limited. Not disappointed in the product, just anxious to explore the full capabilities of the unit.

Easy to use and great performance

I bought the 530 about 2 months ago. I use it every weekend and it works great. The information while riding is on point and easy to read. Wish I would have bought one sooner.
