Very complicated to set up

While it apparently has some great features, the requirement to download an app to use to program the device is cumbersome. It also could be more intuitive rather than having to navigate through multiple screens using an array of buttons. Hopefully with time it will get easier…

Data loss when no power meter.

I am the owner of a Tactix Delta watch, which is amazing, however l wanted to see my data in front of me and not on my wrist when riding. I bought the edge 539 which is amaze but l was upset to see it would not give me a training load without a power meter, l don’t understand this as my watch will give me this data without a power meter being connected. The are a few options on the edge that requires a power meter and HRM to get data but l can get the same data from my watch with only a HRM. So l now use my watch and edge 530 when riding but only upload the watch data. So my edge 530 is only used to read data on my ride, until l can get a power. The edge 530 is amazing but l can’t understand why my watch can generate select data without a power meter but the 530 does not have the option to do this.

It is slimmer then my 520 plus also buttons are more solidly built then the rubber ones on 520 but you still have to move thru all the setup features using the buttons and the sub categories functions & you can’t really tell if you have saved the options in the subcategories when you escape out of them leaving you unsure if your setup choices are there or not until you go to your main function screen the first time to verify all your choices are there and working correctly?
I had to go back into setup screens twice before I got everything right !

More awesome than I expected

I absolutely love this product. Having used the traditional/basic cycling computer for years before eventually switching to just use my smart phone, this is like having my smart phone still but without the battery drain. So many features and so much customization available it's ridiculous. I have tailored my screens and data fields just to my liking. I was out on my first ride with this unit and it told me when a new text message came in and from who, same thing with a phone call. While not a touch screen, the menu is very easy to navigate and I find it intuitive. Battery life seems to work very well. I have zero complaints so far. I average 4 rides/week and ~130 miles.

Pairing function is difficult

My only experience so far is with the pairing function. Really difficult to get started!

Unbenutzbare Garmin Connect App

Die erst einrichtung mit der Garmin Connect App ist unter der Abteilung Albtraum in meine IT Geschichte eingegangen. Man kann weder Sprache noch diesen unsinnigen Dark Mode umstellen. Anstatt alles konfortabel per App ein zu richten habe ich mich nun mit den Tasten an dem kleinen Edge 530 durchgeklickert.
Zumindest das hat funktioniert, so daß ich dem kleinen Ding noch eine Chance geben werde.
