Good computer but requiring steep learning curve

I have found that getting to the Activity screen to start a ride with current display information can be difficult, or confusing, especially if one does not ride frequently. There are so many options that the primary activity screens are obscured. Once one establishes the main riding screens, it would be nice if the option screens were a little harder to access.

Sadly, not quite what I expected.

I am a dyed-in-the-wool Garmin fan and my old Garmin was great. The 530 is hard to use and the display is almost illegible. It's is wasted space with small font. It is not a touch screen and hard to manipulate while riding. In it's favor, the phone Link and autoload are great features and the ride statistics when transferred to another device are awesome. After the fact statistics are great but I need visible, meaningful information in plain view, and sadly the 530 fails in that department.

Great Features

Been using a 520 and 520-Plus for several years, but wanted a dedicated Edge for my new road bike. Considered the 800-series but elected to stay with the 500-series because of years of proven quality & reliability; purchased the 530 and cannot believe all the enhanced features & technology packaged into this Edge...essentially a 520/520-Plus on steriods ... MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I upgraded from a 520. The 530 has a much bigger screen, is much sharper, has many more features, a huge better life, etc....... Love it.
