Nice upgrade from the 520

I’ve used the Garmin 520 (not the plus) for several years and wanted to upgrade to a bike computer with a full map set, increased battery life, and more features. I am an avid user of the Garmin Varia, and this is compatible with that as well. I’ve been very happy with the functionality and the amazing battery life! Great computer.

Great device with lots of features

I bought this about a month ago since getting more involved in cycling and found that my Fenix 5 watch didn't do everything that I wanted (turn by turn directions, all the data I wanted on one screen, easy to look at while cycling.) Transferring all of existing garmin user data to the edge 530 was a breeze and setting up the device was simple and intuitive enough. There are lots of features i haven't used yet, like eat and drink reminders, as well as crash detection, although hopefully I won't need to use that one. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase so far

Love the Manual

I started with the Edge 820 three years ago and recently stepped "down" to the Edge 530. I really like the manual operation with buttons vs the touch screen. With the 820 I found that rain drops and sweat often activated the screen, switching modes and info I wanted to see - especially frustrating during interval workouts. Not so with the 530. It only does what I tell it to do and seems to have all the power and functionality of more "advanced" models. Seems like I get a lot more life for each battery charge as well. I love it.

Love the device - could be bigger with top buttons

Love it so far. Great stats and ability to hook to speed, cadence, and heart rate. Upload to Strava is nice.
Things I would change:
1) slightly bigger screen - maps would be easier with a bigger screen
2) buttons on the top vs sides... side buttons are hard to use on a mountain bike ride (A remote helps, but does not cover all buttons)
