GREAT FEATURES

I bought this because I wanted to monitor my HR very closely. I had a bypass surgery three months ago and it is very important to me to keep an eye on the HR. This is the MOST amazing device I have had. It is extremely accurate since it is 100% synchronized with my Garmin watch. No reason to use the strapless if you have a Garmin watch. I’m in the middle of a cardiac rehab and I have been “testing” my Garmin watch vs the monitors that we have a the cardiac rehab center at the hospital and I can say it is VERY accurate. My wife has the Apple Watch and I can say that the Garmin is more accurate. I really trust Garmin !

I recently purchased my second Edge 530. It was an upgrade for my wife's road bike. (She's been using Edge 520 Plus). I have had Edge 520's and 520 Plus', and they are good devices. However, in my opinion the Edge 530 is clear upgrade! The Edge 530 boots up much faster (important for triathlon T1), has a better display, provides road alert info while riding and is great for route download - showing elevation, etc., just a to name a few things. I'm sure the device does much more than we will ever use. I have the devices configured with three different Activity displays. General road riding, Outdoor interval training, Indoor interval training. So far we have been very happy with our Edge 530's, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a great head unit from Garmin! (PS. This is not a dig against the Edge 530 - just some Garmin feedback. It would be great if Garmin would eventually develop an app to either for your phone or computer to configure Edge display screens. Just sayin...)

I bought my Garmen a couple of weeks ago and I broke the out-front mount on the first ride. I called customer service and they sent me replacement parts for free. Also, the Edge 530 is great easy to use lots of stats no problem pairing with my heart rate monitor and my cadence meter.

Probably the best-in-class cycling GPS

Good daylight visibility and effective ambient light sensor. There's just a minor deficiency in which visibility degrades when facing the sun. This probably caused by the ambient light sensor senses lower light than actual.
The endless list of recordable data items is overwhelming and probably unique to Garmin. Another minor drawback is the small display which makes data pages with six or more fields barely legible, for me at least. I enjoy using the Garmin very much so I made it my preferred cycling GPS (I have also Bryton Rider 750, IGSPORT 620, TwoNav Trail2).

I’m 46 years old and I’ve been a bike racer/serious cyclist for a long time. My Garmin is my first head unit I’ve ever owned. Up until about 3 weeks ago, I was still making cue sheets to keep in my jersey pocket! I love my Garmin! Works really well, even in dense wooded, back country gravel. Display is easy to see, and use is very intuitive.
