OK product. Screen busted

It does continue to work. I had to put tape on it. Not sure it's worth the jimmy rig. I would consider deeply before buying again.

Great upgrade from Edge 520
on October 15, 2019

After using an Edge 520 for almost two years, I wanted to upgrade. I prefer buttons over touchscreen, so the 530 was a no brainer, especially with the added features such as maps, training effect, and cycling dynamics with third party power meters. I also like that it can synch via WiFi in addition to Bluetooth. The altimeter seems to be a bit more accurate (still not perfect, though) as well and the GPS is spot-on. Everything seems quicker as well. I'm passing my 520 on to a family member, as it is still a great device as well.

Sensors will not stay paired

The sensors for the 530 will not stay paired. Cadence dropped out, then speed. Have deleted sensors and paired again. It is not reliable. Will not buy Garmin products in the future.

Too many buttons
on October 15, 2019
Posted by: CCrider
I have been a longtime Garmin user having used the 520 the past several years and the vivoactive watch. When my 520 died, I thought I would easily roll into the 530 or 830. But when I bought the 530 to mount alongside another cyclocomputer, I found the button placement on the 530 to be harder to manipulate the buttons and that some functions required too many button touches. This functionality plus that Garmin indicates that they couldn't provide a discount for buying a replacement product for six months after release led me to returning the 530. May be a small thing to some but need to be able to easily maneuver around the device while riding.

Many improvements vs. Edge 520
on October 15, 2019

Key features that I like compared to my old 520 device: 1) easier to configure and use different views for different profiles, e.g., road vs. gravel vs. MTB, 2) on-screen information for major climbs as you complete them (when following a route), 3) easier to see information displayed (overall device is slightly bigger, but trade-off is worth it), 4) buttons just work better/easier.

It won’t pair with my new iPhone 11 Pro.

I bought this a little while ago when I had an 7s iPhone. It too had problems. The new iPhone 11 Pro won’t sync at all.
