I brought the Edge 530 over a month now and it is very helpful on routing a map or uploading a map that I created. Very easy to use.

I have owned this for a few months and really love the new features, pro climb & the special MTB metrics. It’s fun to look back after a ride and see how many times I jumped and far each time. Excellent Bike computer with the perfect size screen!!

Sticky buttons

My first cycling computer but I’ve had many Garmin gps’s over the years. I really like how simple Garmin products are to use. So far its been very useful and now that I have one, I wouldn’t do without it. I’ve had a few problems with sensors dropping out early on but lately I’ve had no problems. The enter button seems to stick and be difficult sometimes and if I had to do over I would pay the extra $100 for the Edge 830. Bottom line is, I like so much that I’ve added accessories like radar tail light and Garmin speed sensitive headlight night riding.

Easy to use

I bought this 2 months ago, have completed multiple rides to include a Honolulu century ride. The 530 did exceptionally well for what I paid for it and never dissatisfied. It connected with my bontrager products with little to no confusion. One of the most used features for me is the navigation!!! Being a bit older, the screen is big enough for me to see without visual aides. Thanks Garmin for this product.

I purchased the Garmin 530 after my 810 gave out. I'm very happy with it. Also, purchased the Varia Rear Radar and Varia Front Headlight. They work flawlessly together. Excellent system well worth the price for piece of mind and safety!

One Device for the Road and the Mountain
on October 12, 2019

I am surprised at how much I love this device. As someone who rides road and mountain bikes, this is the first device that I can use on both. I had actually owned the 1000 and returned it because it didn't cover all of my rides. Here is what I've loved, so far:
1. Mapping for roads/pathways as well as mountain trails with the Trailforks connection. This is huge for me and it was great going on a ride in the mountains and knowing exactly where I was without pulling out my phone. 2. I love being able to customize my data screens depending on what I'm doing. 3. Surprisingly, I love the Grit and Flow scores more than expected. For now, they are pretty arbitrary as Garmin is the only one that knows exactly how they're scored, but I still like knowing how different trails compare. 4. I like the water and food reminders, the elevation acclimation and a ton of the other data. 5. I love being able to create specific workouts.
In all, it has connected well to my different heart rate straps and watches. I have found two bugs to date, which are:
1. It doesn't seem to be able to connect to my heart rate strap as well as my phone. I don't think this is a bug as much as it's hardware capability. I just wish I could connect both simultaneously. 2. A couple of times it has frozen on me. This is rare and mostly when I'm fiddling with it during my ride.
I HIGHLY recommend this unit and have already convinced about 5 friends to get one, as well. They all love it.

Solid Unit

I upgraded to this unit from a 820 that I hated. This unit works well and is easy to read with my old eyes. The only complaint is the incident detection triggers way to easy and puts my wife into a panic everytime I stop riding. IT doesn’t even let me know it is calling her. I had to send the notifications to myself to turn it off. However my 820 didn’t even trigger incident detection when crashed my bike at 40mph!!

Garmin got this one right

I own several gps units, including Garmin's venerable 500 from years ago. The 530 is the right combination of size, color, and mapping, to be useful in a variety of circumstances. I just completed a cycling trip to the Alps, and I had downloaded the appropriate maps into the 530. No one in our group had the confidence in their gps that I had in the 530.
