Absolutely Great

Overall, the Edge 530 is such a great device with so many features. The MTB stats are great to compare your rides over time while the jumping feature makes you work on you jumps more and more. The Training Status, Training Load, VO2 Max and other data is great to always have as you are working to get more fit. Everything syncs well with Garmin Connect and my Fenix 5X. Have not used the mapping yet as I have not needed it, but knowing it is there is nice. Love the non-touch screen, which is the reason I got this one over the 830.
The only con is that I have had to reconnect the device to my phone 3 times now. However, admittedly, this may be an issue with my phone as I still have an older model iPhone.

Great

I've had mine a few month's. I'm impressed with all the things it can do. I used it once for following a route tour. It worked like clockwork. I didn't stray off course in all of 110 miles. And it rained some too on that day.

Kicking myself for waiting so long

I have had it a few months. Way safer and more convenient than looking at watch on wrist for data. Garmin finally quit making bike mounts for watches so they could sell more of these I guess. I love the “extended display” and I love that it reminds you to hit start if you are moving and have not. I wish it didn’t take so many button pushes to turn it off. That is kind of a pain.

Steep learning curve

I migrated from an Edge 500. It took a while to make it function as my Edge 500 did. I have not learned yet how to integrate the mapping features. No time yet to study up.

I bought this after riding the Dirty Kanza 200 and wish I had it during the ride. This unit allows me to ride the distance without a recharge.
Garmin, please please please create an app to update fields on the fly through either my phone or computer!

Easy to customize

I love my Edge. I syncs with my heart rate monitor, power meter and my Garmin watch with no effort at all. Easy to customize the screen and what I am looking at. Easy to scroll without having to risk losing my balance. Love It!

Very Feature Rich

I got this a few months ago and I've been steadily learning more and more how to properly use it. The MTB features are interesting and its ability to detect a jump (and not get a false positive from say, a short manual) is really good. It does have a learning curve to setup and I found the need to juggle a few different apps, the Garmin Express software on my computer and the Garmin Connect site all needed to be used in one way or another to get things largely setup. There isn't a good universal point of control where you can do everything. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone who isn't very tech savvy or who doesn't have another experienced Garmin user to lean on. I can see a need for a Garmin University series of classes since their products are known for being complex. Unfortunately, the unit was thrashed pretty hard in a crash that broke my MTB mount so I currently don't have this.
