Excellent for shooting indoors or out

My GF gave me these for Christmas. have been using now for about 5 months, and really like how the headphones suppress gunshots while allowing a conversation to happen when not shooting without removing the headset. Excellent quality product.

Excellent ear pro, worth the price

I shoot firearms frequently and have ear pro on for a long duration when I shoot. I've gone through at least 8 different sets of electronic ears and this is by far the best.
Pros: very comfortable, excellent noise reduction, great clarity of non-muted sounds, rechargeable battery holds charge for long periods and operates for long periods while in use. Simple, easy to use controls. The bluetooth feature is just gravy.
Cons: on the bulky side. If you have problems shooting rifles with large ear pro this wont be for you. If you are using ear pro for tactical shooting/ops this is probably too bulky.

Awesome product that does what it needs to do

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These hearing protectors do exactly what they need to do by protecting my hearing at the gun range. They are comfortable to wear for the short term (I have not worn them longer than an hour or so) and effective. I did not use the bluetooth to stream music or make calls at the range, because frankly, I don't want to be distracted, but it is a cool feature to have on these hearing protectors.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Battery melted after maybe 3-4 uses

I bought this a few years ago, used it a handful of times, always stored it in my basement (thus no environmental / temperature issue), and the battery fried when I went to pull them out recently. A bunch of white dust on the outside of the earmuff and they will not charge or turn on. I reached out about a warranty claim and 3M responded effectively, "sorry our products are only designed to last a year - you are SOL".
These are junk. Don't waste your money. Go get a pair of Walkers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hearing Protection and Beyond!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Peltor Sport Tactical 500 SMART Electronic Hearing Protection surpassed my expectations. I am an avid outdoorsman and enjoy shooting sports as well. I recently used these when shooting a rifle, shotgun, and handgun at a local gun range.
Prior to using the Peltor Sport Tactical 500 Hearing Protection, I would frequently have to take on and off my hearing protection to be able to listen and talk to others. Using the Peltors I never had to take them off of my head the entire time I was shooting at the range. I could clearly hear others talking to me, when not shooting. It was amazing. I also was very impressed with how the noise of the gunshot was suppressed in the earmuffs when I was firing.

Using the Peltors I never had to take them off of my head the entire time I was shooting at the range. I could clearly hear others talking to me, when not shooting. It was amazing. I also was very impressed with how the noise of the gunshot was suppressed in the earmuffs when I was firing.
The comfort of these is also noteworthy. The cups are very soft around my ears and it felt great wearing these for an extended period of time. I almost always shoot with some sort of ball cap on and had no issues with the headband going over the top of my head.
Through this first time test at the gun range, I was curious to see if the stock of the rifle and shotgun would interfere in any way with the Peltor Hearing Protection. The Peltors have cut-outs and rubber bumpers on the bottom of the ear cups. I had no problems using my rifle however my shotgun, which has a slightly higher comb, did bump up against the bottom of the Peltor slightly. It's understandable with the higher comb and even though it touched slightly I still intend to use these for shooting a trap league.
Another great feature is the Bluetooth connectivity. I tested these out at home playing music as well as sending and receiving calls via the Bluetooth connection on my cell phone. Once it paired up, it's super easy to auto-connect to the Peltors each time you use it. It also has an audible voice that lets you know when the Bluetooth connection is made as well as when you power up and down the Peltors.
I also am very much looking forward to using these in the upcoming gun deer season. I have recommended these to a couple of friends as well as my father who traditionally put some sort of hearing protection on before shooting during the season. The amplified
