They easily connect to my phone via bluetooth to allow me to listen to music or take a phone call, both things I would not have been able to do using standard hearing protection. They are also great at protecting your hearing while still being able to clearly hear people talking. The buttons are also easy to access, and very intuitive, allowing operation without removing them. These are great for a day at the range! 3M gave me a free sample of this product to evaluate.

Amazing Product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Peltor Sport Tactical 500 Electronic Hearing Protector headphones really surprised me! These are a quality made product and are great to use. I tried these right out of the package by putting in batteries and then tried them on.I was able to hear conversation much more clearly than with the naked ear.The Tactical 500 has far more effective noise suppression and delivers more and clearer ambient sounds including voices. Microphones are top-notch and sound very natural. Bluetooth is amazing, clear and fast. I received a call and it worked flawlessly. Phone conductivity is straightforward. Phone calls come through and you can talk while shooting is going on from a short distance no problem. I connect my phone to listen to music, I just turn down the active listening volume and the earmuffs keep the sound out.These are rugged built for quality. The headset noise dampens loud sudden noises while allowing me to actually hear better than without them. . The headphones are very comfortable and easy to use. The ear pads are thick and comfortable. The button is easy to push and find to turn on the headphones . I was so impressed with the noise control. Loud noises are some how diminished and low noises such as talking are perfectly clear through these headphones. I highly recommend these headphones for hearing protection, answering calls and for listening to music while in a heavy noise area, or gun range.

Definite Upgrade!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was provided with a free Peltor Sport Tactical 500 Electronic Hearing Protector for review. Upon unboxing it was immediately obvious that this was a serious upgrade from my current cans. My most important feature is fit. My previous cans are too snug. The Peltor set are very comfortable and feel very well constructed and substantial. I really like the hard rubber headband. The headband is usually one of the first areas to wear. This one feels durable as well as flexible and comfortable. The materials are high quality. The hard plastic ear ups feel rock-solid, the rubber port cover fits nice and snug. The battery cover fits nicely and has a piece to keep it attached so you don’t misplace it. The Bluetooth worked perfectly, the volume controls are responsive and it’s easy to find the controls while you’re wearing the unit. The Bluetooth voice prompts are helpful. The ear pads are comfortable. They’re made of a soft plastic or vinyl type material that is textured where they fit over your ears. I honestly would prefer perforated fabric, but this material is soft, fairly supple, not too thin and not too thick, and works just fine. Although I haven’t seen it advertised, I’ve read that the ear pads can be replaced and/or upgraded. Also included is a very handy nylon carry bag and a 3.5mm audio connector. The Peltor Tactical 500s are a definite upgrade for me, solid construction, nice features, comfortable fit and most of all protection.

This hearing protector device is perfect for providing excellent protection when shooting whether you're indoors or outside. The advanced technology of the Peltor Sport Tactical 500 quickly analyzes the environment to reduce the noise and enhance the experience accordingly and it's all done while providing superior comfort with an adjustable headband and cushioned ear pads! In addition to that, the 'smart' technology behind this product allows you make & receive phone calls, stream music, as well as electronic voice guidance for instructional purposes! Added bonus...this electronic hearing protector also has a programmable auto shut-off and is compatible with most mobile devices and 2-way radios! It performs better than any hearing protector device that I've ever tried/used. When you factor that in with the comfort, as well as the Bluetooth technology, it just doesn't get any better than that!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like these peltor sport tactical 500 smart electronic hearing protector with Bluetooth wireless technology a lot because they are very comfortable to wear and they really do a great job at blocking harmful noise. Also I like these because the design is really great and they seem very durable and they seem like they would protect my hearing very well. I also like how well the Bluetooth wireless technology works and how well it can sync to my mobile devices along with being able to make and receive phone calls through the headset. And I received this product for free from 3M for my opinions and my review.
