Comfort, Protection, and Great Listening

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this as a sample several days ago. I have worn them while weedeating, mowing the yard on a riding lawnmower, and while working in my shop while refinishing antique furniture or sawing, nailing and buliding a home project.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a pair of WorkTunes hearing protectors from 3M for review purposes. This is what I found out about them; I always wear hearing protection when running power tools, but that makes it almost impossible to listen to music or hear my phone ring. Being able to listen to my favorite tracks and answer phone calls while still protecting my hearing is a wonderful thing! The WorkTunes hearing protector feels solid and by my seat-of-the-pants comparison has the same sound protection as the 3M Peltor Tekk ear muffs that I've been using (and have been really happy with!). The WorkTunes are only 1 ounce heavier than the Tekk's, which is not much considering they added speakers and a battery. I haven't felt the slight extra weight as being an issue so far. The instructions are clear, and making the bluetooth connection was easy with a simple double-push of the one button that is on the ear muffs. They paired with my Samsung Note-9 right away on the first try. The audio is very clear but could use more bass, IMHO. The volume is controlled by the phone and I could barely hear a thing at half-volume so had to turn it way up to listen to music at a decent level. I do like loud rock-n-roll, but unless you are used to Metallica concerts, I think they are plenty loud at full volume. Answering a phone call is as simple as pushing the button once to pick up, and giving it a double push to end the call. The button is easy to find even with light gloves on (like Mechanix) and I love how simple it is to use. The band that goes over the top of the head has a great feature if you wear a ball cap that has one of those buttons sewn on top: The top strap of other headsets push down on the button which can get really sore after a while. But the strap on the WorkTunes has a little recessed area that fits over the caps button and eliminates the pressure point, a super clever idea! The one fault I can find with these protectors is that for guys like me with a large head (7 1/2 hat size) the top strap doesn't open quite wide enough, so the ear muffs barely go low enough to cover my ears. This would become a problem if I wanted to wear a thick wool cap when it's cold outside. The top strap on the Tekk protectors has just enough more range of adjustment that they fit me fine, so I don't know why 3M didn't make these the same. All in all though, I recommend these hearing protectors for those who like music and the ability to take phone calls in a loud environment.

Comfortable Ear fit and great sound

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 3M gave me a free sample of this product to evaluate. I really liked it. The music sound was very good, the ear fit comfortable. They did get a bit heavy on my head after wearing them for over an hour. Just slipped them down around my neck for a bit, than was good to go for another hour or so. Very effective with just noise cancelling, if your not listening to music. The Bluetooth worked well with my phone. I was surprised at the ease of answering a phone call, and the sound of the call was pretty clear. My ring tone came thru the phone and all I had to do was tap the button-on the ear piece- to answer the call, and just talked naturally. Justtap the button to end the call. When I was close to my phone, after a phone call the music resumed immediately. If I was 15-20feet or so away from my phone, after a phone call the music didn't start back up, I had to walk over to my phone and tap the hold button on the station and the music came back on. I found I needed to concentrate a little harder to my work, as the music would sometimes get my attention and my mind would wander.
They worked great for wearing while cutting the grass in my backyard.

I had these working less than 5 minutes after I charged them. Easy to pair with my tablet and comfortable fit. Really nice looking and well made. I would definitely recommend these for more than just work.

Its like a light in a tunnel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Other products that I've used at my work with blue tooth connection tend to have fade out trouble and other reception trouble. I have yet to witness that in problematic areas with 3M Worktunes. So far so good hence the title: light in the tunnel.
