Push it fast. Bing bing.

I like these a lot. Here's the trick that worked for me. To put it in pairing mode push the button twice VERY QUICKLY, quicker than you think you should have to. Push.... push won't work on mine. Pushpush works on mine. Maybe it's a quirk of my pair or maybe it should be in the instructions. The instructions simply say "press the button twice". This is wrong. Instead you should... pressthebuttontwice. Get it?

USB input fell inside, now useless

I received these as a Christmas present just over a year ago from my brother inlaw and they worked great. I'm a woodworker so I work in a noisy workshop. I love to listen to podcasts while I work, while wearing other safetly gear (glasses/mask/etc).- these headphones were perfect and comfortable for long hours. But just today I went to charge them as I always do and the micro USB jack in the headphones popped inside and is now rattling around inside with no way to extract it. There doesn't seem to be a way to open, and not sure I could reconnect even if I could gain access. It's a bummer that 1 year of recharging has caused the jack/s adhesive to lose strength and fail.... its a really simple and necessary component/function... The warranty only seems to last a year, so it looks like I'm 1 month out of luck. Not impressed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Really good ear muffs but fragile charging port

I have been using these for over 2 years without issue. I absolutely love them and were used for mowing the lawn, using the table saw, power washer, tractor work, etc... After work was finished for the day went to plug them to charge and the micro USB port broke and fell into the housing rendering the charge port useless. I could hear it rattling around inside the headphones, With the headset out of warranty, I decided to crack it open to see if I could fix it. They were easy to open and discovered the USB port broke off of the circuit board. There was little to no bracing inside the case holding the charge port in place, just the solder connecting the micro USB port onto the circuit card. For such a critical piece of the entire package, better care should have been taken to ensure the overall rigidity of the charge port. A few very small solder joints are not adequate for such an important and very frequent piece of the package.. I will purchase a replacement next trip to hardware store (they are that good). Just use care when plugging them in, the charge port is extremely fragile now that I see how it is connected. My next pair I will open and use something to brace the charge port better, maybe a big dab of hot glue??.

Nice Headphones, but poor longevity

I bought these a little over a year ago (outside of the warranty period). I really enjoyed them, but the charging port broke which makes the Bluetooth very ineffective. I opened them up today to see if I could just re-secure the port, but it had broken off the board. They should have secured it a lot better or provided some additional support so it wouldn't brake off. The price was pretty high for a pair of non Bluetooth ear protectors which is what this ended up being.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good headset - poor quality

I purchased my WorkTunes in February or March of this year and later purchased a rechargeable battery so I wouldn't need to keep replacing them. I enjoyed the headset but after approximately 3 months, the recharge port on the headset broke so that I can no longer recharge the battery. Shoddy quality on the headset in regards to that port.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great WORK Headphones ever!!

Well designed earmuffs. I work around high pressure water & air noises all day. In the past I would wear earbuds under my earmuffs, very uncomfortable, and I would still be damaging my ears with the earbuds volume on max. Then I discovered these Worktunes. Despite other reviews, I understand why and appreciate the very smart design. Yes, the volume is reduced in these headphones, otherwise if you could blast your music, then whats the point of protecting your ears... However after a couple wears, and getting past the bad habit of blasting music, you realize the volume is just fine while you are still protecting your ears! Great speakers, crisp and clear, and they produce great bass as well. The phone feature is great, the mic is very powerful. And yes, you can hear yourself a little when talking, which is needed, otherwise if you can't hear yourself talking, you might mispronounce words, fact. Some people complain about bluetooth range, well duh, the human body is 60% water and water blocks RF, so keep your phone on the same side of your body that the power button is on, and you will be just fine. I also get about 15ft range if the phone is on a table. Battery last for quite some hours, I can get at least 15hrs out of them before recharge. Also very comfy, on top of blocking out noises, I can wear these for a while without ear fatigue. I am VERY HAPPY with these earmuffs, other colleagues have gotten these Worktunes too and are very happy as well. Kudos 3M!!!

Call Quality?

Overall quality is very important to me.
This product provides hearing protection - great.
Sound quality is good for listening to tunes - good.
On phone calls, the sound is muffled - still ok, but not so good.
But also on calls, the other party says they can barely hear me. This seems to be the case regardless of background noise, though it is worse in louder locations.
3m has expertise in protective equipment. Perhaps more consultancy with an audio specialist could bring this product from ok to good or great.
I'm keeping the headset, but I would love another an improved version, or some more information if this is a common issue.

Don't Drop Them

Received as a Christmas gift. I gave up buying them when the first two pair I owned (10 years ago or so) the plastic around the ear cracked, deteriorated and fell apart. This pair I dropped once and as you can see one of the pieces which holds the muff to the frame broke. Completely useless now. The old pairs never broke, just disintegrated. Probably need to go back to your old source for the plastic.
