Grace Sense2Soothe = no more tears
on August 24, 2018

I was given the Graco Sense2Soothe swing by the weeSpring Parent Panel and I’m surprisingly IN LOVE with it. I say surprisingly because my colicky baby hates most baby gear. She loves movement, but she wants ME to hold her all day and bounce her around the house, and I just can’t do this when I’m also trying to meet the needs of my three year old. When the swing arrived I was excited but skeptical, and I am officially a big fan and promotor of this swing. To begin with, the swing is visually appealing. Its clean, white, and light accent color scheme design prevents it from being an eyesore in the living room. Off the bat, this was a huge selling point for me, because Baby gear has recently taken over my house, and for the most part, it’s all loud, vibrate colors that scream, “welcome to the circus.” The irony is uncanny.
Prior to receiving the swing from weeSpring we were the owners of a basic, generic swing, a baby glider, and various other electronic rockers that simply collected dust in the corner, because my daughter would only last about 3-5 min in them before becoming extremely fussy, and by the time I got her strapped in, I was having to unbuckle her and get her out. The Graco Sense2Soothe swing bucket seat is deep and adjustable in position, which creates a cradle like hold for Baby, much like momma’s arms. The seat can be reclined or inclined to meet baby’s sleep needs, or his or her desire to look around and engage with their surroundings. The seat can also be removed and reattached perpendicular to the base of the swing if Baby prefers more of a side to side motion versus a front to back motion. The seat itself can be removed from the base of the swing and it becomes portable if Baby needs to be transported to a different room. This is a very nice feature if Baby falls asleep and you don’t want to jostle him or her when moving into a new room. This is also nice when momma needs to move about the house and she wants to keep Baby close. When removed from the base, the bucket seat acts as a manual rocker as well.
The swing has 4 different motion options, and 3 different speeds, which is nice, because for one, not all babies like the same type of movement, and for two, we all know babies can easily need a variation in movement to remain content in the swing. In addition, the swing has a vibration feature, which is an ideal feature for most babies, but most definitely colicky babies. The swing also has 3 different sound options (nature, white noise, and music). The music sound feature has a variation of tone songs, all of which are calming to both Mom and baby’s ears. There is a volume level increase and decrease option on the swing for the sounds, and the top volume level is still not very loud. Since most babies sleep in a variation of loud white noise, this could be seen as a disadvantage if the swing is used for sleep. However, in my opinion, the low volume level on the sound feature would not be enough of a reason to deter me from purchasing this product.
The baby cry detection feature is probably the coolest thing about this swing, and what separates it from the rest on the market. Since my little one is general pretty fussy, I knew we would surely see this feature in action in no time. When my daughter was having an “overtired and I’ve had enough” moment during the witching hour of the day, I placed her in the swing to see how the cry detection worked. When she started to fuss on and off a bit, the blue face remained blue instead of turning green, to detect cry, and I was confused by this, but once she started to really wail, the detection jumped into action. I was a bit surprised it didn’t detect her on and off fussing, but the more I thought about it that made sense, because Baby fussing, cooing, and talking is sometimes not something that needs intervention, and it appears the swing is programmed to agree with this idea. The cry detection can be programmed to respond two different ways. Graco has a preprogrammed suggestion (the star button) of what it believes would be most soothing to a baby in distress, or the parent can manually program the swing (the heart button) to operate how he or she believes Baby would be best soothed when upset. My husband and I have both agreed that the programmed Graco button seems to provide a great combination of movement, sound and vibration that is most soothing to our daughter, and so we’ve had no need to program an alternative option, but this is definitely a nice option for particular babies. I must admit, again, I was truly skeptical if this feature would actually soothe my baby when she was upset, and i can honestly say it did. I couldn’t believe it. I said this previously, but we’ve tried several different Baby swings and rockers, ranging from inexpensive to “this better be worth the money” expensive, and my daughter has disliked them all, with the exception of the Graco Sense2Soothe. Well done Graco. My little one is a tough critic and your swing has passed the test. I will definitely be recommending this swing to my mommy friends in the future. Thank you to the weeSpring panel for bringing this swing into our lives. This tired momma needed some mini breaks throughout the day.

Extremely Versatile Swing!

I was super excited to receive this swing as part of the WeeSpring Parent Panel. I was very intrigued by the cry detection technology and interested in testing it out. My 3 month old son absolutely loved the swing from the minute we put him in it. I love that you can select from music or white noise/sounds. The different swing patterns are really helpful as well. My son likes this swing MUCH more than the other swing we have. This swing helps rock him to sleep or sometimes he just lays there contently looking at the mobile and enjoying the swinging. We tried testing the cry technology and at first it seemed like it didn't work at all. He would be wailing and the green light wouldn't come on and nothing would happen. After a few days, it started picking up his cry and would adjust the swing pattern and change the sounds. It calms him down sometimes. I do think that the variety of the swing patterns are helpful in soothing him. It is very convenient to be able to remove the seat and transition it from room to room. If you are looking for a high tech swing that is very versatile, this is the swing for you!

Pros and cons to this swing!

First off, thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this product. We received this item when my son was 4 months and weighed around 14lbs. The max weight for this is 18lbs so we knew that we wouldn’t be using it for long but still have gotten so much use in this little time. There were good things and not so good things about this swing but overall we would definitely purchase this as a gift for someone expecting, my son loves it even at 5 months and will probably be upset when he can’t use it anymore. The cry activated feature was great for when I was showering or cooking because I didn’t need to stop what I was doing to get the swing started. The downside of this feature is that once you select your settings and lock it in parent mode it’s difficult to change them, I still haven’t been able to figure out how even after referring to the manual. The removable seat was something I really appreciated especially when his toddler brother wanted to sit with him on the floor and help bounce him. The seat is a little difficult to remove especially the first couple of times but you eventually get the hang of using it, I found placing it back to be a bit of a challenge, I kept having to get down to look under to make sure it clipped in place. The fabric on the seat is great, it can easily be wiped or thrown in the wash. The 5 point harness is always a great plus especially with squirmy babies like mine. The colors were nice, warm tones, nothing too vibrant so it matched well to our decor. There are 4 adjustments to how the swing moves, each one better than the last, we especially love the swaying motion. The musical/nature tones were soothing and can be adjusted to a louder volume which was great when I was showering because usually he can’t hear anything over the water noise. My favorite feature was definitely the fact that it is NOT battery operated, it plugs in and I never have to worry about having extra batteries, the cord is very slim so you’re not tripping over it and it’s not an eyesore. Overall we would definitely recommend this product!!

Nice features, baby likes it!

I like this swing, and it does everything it says it can, that said, it is a little on the bulky side. If you are in a small space I'm not sure this would be the swing you want, it is fine for a larger space. I can also be a little loud, especially on certain settings. I have used other brands of swings that are definitely quieter. Besides these two things, I think it's a great product. My baby is happy with it and we use it everyday, pretty frequently. It really does detect baby's cry and start cycling through the different settings to try to soothe him, I do wish that I could keep the sound effects turned off even when leaving it on the cry detection setting, but you cannot. If it is on cry detection mode it will cycle through the swing styles and speeds, the vibration settings, and the sound effects. I really like that it has the vibration with the swing, my baby definitely likes that. Changing it from rocker to swing and back is not difficult, and I like the idea that you can do that, multiple uses in one product, and you can move the rocker portion to different rooms. I don't typically use it as just the rocker because my baby cries if he is not always in motion. I like the overall design of the swing, the style of the seat, and the height of it, it is a little taller than other swings I have tried, which is nice with two toddlers running around and playing. Baby does lay back in this swing a little more than others I have tried, which is great with my very young baby, but he may not like it as much as he gets older and wants to sit up more. I was given this product by the WeeSpring Parent Panel in exchange for my honest review.

Exceeded my expectations!

Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this product. It is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!
Graco did an amazing job creating this swing. It is small and does not take up much space. I have had swings in the past that were massive and took up so much space. Plus the swing is not bulky either.
The fact that the swing responds to my child's cry is quite impressive. I thought my daughter would have to scream at the top of her lungs to get the swing to respond. But no!!!! The sound recognition technology is very sensitive and picks up on even the smallest or most quiet cry.
The many "swing" cycles and speeds offer a great variety of combinations for movement. The swing offers the ability to swing up and down or you can swivel the seat and swing left to right. My daughter enjoys the left to right motion with the vibration feature turned on. Speaking of the vibration feature.... The seat vibrates!! The very gentle vibration plus the swinging motion quickly puts my daughter to sleep.
A mobile comes with the swing. At first I thought it would get in my way when I would go to lay my daughter down. Luckily, it swivels to left and right. This allows for me to lay her down without bumping into the mobile.
Being able to detach the seat from the base and take the seat into other rooms is very helpful. The seat is very lightweight. Only thing is.... Detaching it from the base can difficult at times. The front latch is easy to detach but the back latch always remains engaged with the base.
The swing offers three "sounds" that the baby can listen too. A stream of water, white noise, and a collection of various instrumental nursery rhymes. My daughter enjoys the white noise. I have to admit, after a while, the white noise is quite soothing.
Overall, I would recommend this swing to anyone who needs one for their baby. It has a very quite motor, doesn't take up space, and the swing taylor's itself to your babies cry.

Great Multi-functional Swing
on August 27, 2018

I was given this product to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel, and it came at the perfect time. We have a 4yo and a 2yo in addition to our 5mo baby, so we'd been looking for a solution that allows us to put baby girl down happily when we need to focus our attention on the two older kids. The swing did not disappoint - it covered all the basics and had some additional features that were really useful.
The idea behind this swing is that it will respond to your baby's cries and help soothe them - it definitely does this and cycles through various settings until it senses that the baby has stopped crying. Once baby is happily settled, it maintains whatever settings helped calm them. However, I will say that it also responds inaccurately to her older brothers running around the house screaming and will change settings then, even if baby was perfectly happy. In that case, I just turned off the cry-detection feature and left her on her preferred settings and it was not really an issue.
Another great thing about the swing is that you can remove the seat and take baby with you to another room, so it doubles as a rocker - having 3 kids and ALL their stuff in the house means I'm always looking for multi-functional/minimalist items. This one fit the bill and we were able to get rid of another rocker chair that we'd been using.
The customizable settings were enough but not overwhelming, and the fact that you could have the seat rock front-to-back or side-to-side was another plus. My babies have all preferred front-to-back, so I was really excited to see that this swing could do both. The vibration also really helped soothe baby - although it sort of sounded like a loud truck was running, she didn't mind. There are sound options as well but we mostly just used the white-noise. And she also liked the simple hanging toys above, especially once she could reach them.
Overall I'd say the highlights for us on this swing were the front-to-back motion, the small footprint, the EASY assembly (took me about 3 minutes), and while I wouldn't say the cry-detection was 100% effective, I do think it helped. The only con is that the movement could be a little smoother but honestly, baby didn't mind and she loves the swing so that's all that really matters in my book! It's also reasonably priced and I will happily recommend this to any future mamas looking for a swing.

Great Versatile Swing

I was given this Baby Swing to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I really wish that I would have gotten this right when my baby was first born because I think that it would have been an amazing swing for a newborn and would have been able to transition with him into infancy! I love that the swing has multiple settings and can respond to the baby cries, however I wish that the volume could go louder. I also think that the fact that you can detach it from the base and use it as a stand alone rocker is FANTASTIC basically making this a two for one. Prior to this we had a swing and a rock in play and we ended up just putting the rock and play and swing away and using this to consolidate space. Unfortunately my son isn't a huge fan of any swing and prefers to be held or just in a simple bouncer but I think that if he had used it from the beginning it could have been a life saver and I am very much looking forward to using it with our second child! Example: I bought this a month ago and am so happy that I did...

So Unique!

When I was given the opportunity to test this swing through the WeeSpring Parent Panel I jumped at the chance. My previous swing was nearly 6 years old and not able to keep up anymore. I have a 4 month old son and I provide childcare for my 2 month old nephew, so we were in need of something new. I received my swing and found it to be extremely easy to put together and had no trouble figuring out all the settings and how to use it. I love that I am able to place the seat onto the base for it to face whatever direction is most convenient. I have also found that one of my children likes to swing side to side(swing motion) and one likes to swing front to back(rocket motion). So this swing gives me the ease to switch it according to which baby will be using it at the moment. Another great feature is the ability to remove the seat and take my babies with me throughout the house or use just the seat in a crowded room.
I am disappointed in the difficulty of removing the seat when in rocker mode as it tends to stick and needs to be tilted in just the right way, so I cannot remove the seat with the baby in it very smoothly. The seat is also awkward to put back into the base as it has to line up very specifically and without a visual it's a little tricky. I have had to get down on my knees to be sure it's lined up correctly in order for it to actually lock in place. This, however, would not deter me from purchasing this swing because I have seen few others that allow such flexibility in positioning of a seat to be used in multiple ways and none with the features this one has.
I was surprised by just how quickly the swing responded to my babies fussing or crying. When juggling 2 infants, it's difficult to tend to both of them the minute they start to cry, so having a swing that responds has been useful. I like that I am able to set it to parent mode or baby mode as it will adjust to loud sounds that are not baby cries(I have 3-4 other toddlers running around pretty much daily). The Sense2Soothe transitions seamlessly from one mode to another which is priceless for my family. My 2 year old likes to push buttons and help with the babies. He can sit and change the settings and it doesn't jerk all when he pushes numerous settings in quick succession.
The setting on the Sense2Soothe are also amazing! My nephew prefers the nature sounds and no vibration while my son prefers the music and the vibrations. Being able to change the speed has also been a lifesaver. For a long time, the only way to soothe my nephew and help him to fall asleep was to put him in his bucket carseat and swing him with my arms as he needed a strong motion to comfort him. This is the only swing out of many that has a setting that helps to calm him. He is happy in almost any of the rocker motions as long as its at full speed.
The seat also has 3 different positions to allow baby to go from lying down to a more elevated level which is great as baby grows. My 4 month old loves to be in the highest position to be able to see what's going on around him better and my 2 month old prefers the lowest setting. The seat cover is also extremely easy to clean as I can remove it and just toss it in the wash. This is extremely helpful when you have a baby that tends to spit up often.
The base is also very lightweight and I have no problem moving it from room to room if I choose to do so. It also fits nicely in the trunk of a small car for travel.
Overall, this swing offers multiple options and is extremely easy to use. It's quiet, versatile and lightweight. A huge thanks to the WeeSpring Parent Panel for sending one my way!
