Lightweight stroller system
on April 23, 2019
Posted by: katess
The Graco FastAction SE Travel System gets a mixed review from this mom. It was very easy to put together which is always a plus! I was a little disappointed in the quality of the car seat portion. Although lighter, which is a good thing, it seems cheaper in quality. It also is harder to unlatch than a different model of car seat that I have used previously. The first time I attempted to hook the car seat up with the stroller, it was not easy! It took me forever to get it latched. Now I can do it easily, but my mother watches my daughter a few days a week and has troubles with it. The stroller itself is pretty nice; however, the quality again is a little lacking. It being lightweight is a good thing when it comes to transporting it and moving it around easily, but it makes it also seem cheaper in quality. It folds easily and stores well in the trunk of my car. This is a HUGE plus for me. One downside to the stroller is I wish it had an option to be a little higher. I am pretty tall and feel like I am hunched over a little when pushing the stroller. The pattern is nice and neutral. The cup holders are a nice addition, but the space beneath the stroller is a little small for my diaper bag, which is a drawback. Thank you to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this formula to try and review!

Good, Affordable Option for One Child

This is a great travel system for the price. The pros are it's easy to use, the stroller folds up pretty flat, the car seat clicks into the stroller and the car base very easily and seems very secure. I like the small format of the stroller and that it comes with a child tray as well as cup holders for parents. The colors are nice as well, mostly grey with blue on the inside. Obviously great for a boy but not overly masculine for girls too. The stroller lays back far enough for my baby to sleep comfortably. The whole system is light, which is great for moms who have just had a baby.
The cons are that it's only usable for one child. I have a toddler and a 5 month old so I can only use it with one child at a time. The system has a chemical smell when you take it out of the box, I let it air out in the garage and it was gone within a couple of hours but it makes me wonder what they are putting on the fabric. The reviews for the adapter for my double stroller were bad, though that is that brand's issue. The parent cup holder could be a bit bigger, my 24oz water bottle just fit, and neither my baby monitor parent unit nor my bigger phone fit in the middle compartment
Overall it is a good, affordable option for one child. Though I have many friends who wish they would have planned ahead for a stroller that was able to accommodate more than one child while they were registering for their baby shower. It would be great for parents that don't have a lot of space to store baby gear. Thank you WeeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this system!

Fastest collapse ever!

Since having my 3rd baby I knew that I would need a stroller that easily collapsed since my hands are always full and would work as a travel system (a stroller that holds the infant carrier). The Graco FastAction SE Travel System in Hilt Fashion looked like it would check all my needs. First of all, this stroller folds with ONE HAND and in a flash- hands down my favorite feature! Honestly, when I initially read that I was skeptical. I've used many strollers in the last 5 years and this strollers feature is incredible. It opens like a dream too, no more struggling near your trunk to open or close it. The Graco FastAction SE Travel System was also pretty small once collapsed. We actually chose to take this particular stroller to the beach since trunk space is limited with the rest of our stuff. It is also pretty lightweight, which I appreciated since I am tiny. The infant base installed in my van with no difficulties using the latch system. I really liked that the stroller already had a child tray and cupholders for adults so I didn't need to purchase those separately. One thing that was a real bummer was trying to connect the infant seat to the stroller to use as a travel system. First of all the child's tray needs to be installed- for stability it seems like. I like a more streamlined look so that was an eyesore for me. Vanity aside, I tried time and time again to connect the carseat and it was not easy. There is an elastic band that disguises the connectors on the carseat and every single time I tried placing them together the elastic would not move out of the way to click. That means I was stuck trying to hold a 15 pound baby in an infant carrier over the stroller all while trying to find the elastic under the carseat to connect. Once it did click, I would have to go to the other side and do the same. This was incredibly frustrating and dangerous. I am overly cautious and needed to hear that click to connect properly to ensure my daughter was safe and wouldn't accidentally fall out. Another thing I did not like was the infant seat itself. The padding was rather flimsy and the cushion on the back moved all over the place when my baby was taken in and out. That meant I would have to adjust the cushion ever single time I placed her in there in order to be buckled correctly. That being said the infant seat was also lightweight by itself. I did enjoy the sun shade combination from the infant carrier and the stroller together. I found I did not need to use a carseat cover to shade her from the sun by using those in conjunction with each other. The stroller maneuverability was very good. We are a very active family and I tested this stroller with the infant carrier and with my 2 year old son with the stroller only. The seat reclines nearly all the way to a flat back with a simple pull of the string in the back of the stroller. The brakes took a little weight to work but brake well once pushed. Overall, I think the stroller was fantastic by itself. There were far more positives than negatives but as a travel system I would pass since the connection issue needs to be easier. Thank you to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this stroller travel system to try and review.

Functional, but not cozy.

A busy lifestyle doesn't necessarily scream "baby friendly", but I do the best I can to have all the tools and tips possible to help our family succeed! We have struggled in the past with the complications of switching strollers around, messing with complicated infant carrier attachments and haven't yet found a stroller that makes us want to scream "this is the one"! I was so thankful to receive this Travel System to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel.
I was impressed when it arrived on our porch, the box was much smaller than I thought considering it had a full size stroller and infant carrier inside! I questioned if maybe there was a second shipment, but nope! Everything was there! And that is actually the most impressive feature of this travel system- it folds up extremely small! Not only does is have a compact fold, but it is also very simple to fold up! No difficult buttons to press in tricky orders, the stroller does the hard work for you.
Unfortunately, this stroller didn't really cut it for our little man though. The fabric is not very comfortable. It is not soft to the touch and doesn't have much padding. If your baby likes that snuggled up feeling like mine does, he probably won't like this carrier.
The stroller itself seems quite sturdy, and I like that the carrier sits high for easy access to baby. I am wondering how it will weather the storm of life, though. It is predominantly plastic and has definitely shown wear in the week or two that we have used it. Also, as you pick up speed with the stroller it makes a rattle sound that makes me feel like I'm pushing a toy stroller. I'm not sure if this is caused by the plastic wheels or another component.
In short, a functional budget stroller to get you everywhere you need to go and folds up tiny like a breeze. It will simplify your life, but there are features (plush fabric and quality components) that you sacrifice for sake of simplicity.

Great travel system at a great price!

Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this Travel System to try. When we removed it from the box, my husband found it very quick and easy to assemble. It collapses easily allowing for it to remain very portable and easy to put away for transport. It is not heavy, so it can be put into or taken out of the trunk quite easily. The stroller is very functional with shoulder straps that allow the child to be securely fastened into the seat. My favorite part is not only the stroller harness, but also the very sleek roll of the stroller wheels, which make it glide easily across the rolling surface with minimal effort. It is a great travel system at this price point.

Thoughtfully designed and easy to use!

My new Graco travel system arrived at the perfect time- I was about to leave on a road trip with my four-month-old daughter and wasn’t looking forward to lugging her heavy car seat around each time we needed to stop. Well, the Graco FastAction SE Travel System solved that problem for me!
It arrived in one large box and required a small amount of assembly. I was pleasantly surprised at how simple it was to securely snap on the wheels, and after a few other steps, the stroller was completely ready to use. Both the stroller and car seat are notably lighter than those I’d been using before, without seeming flimsy. It took a few tries to get the hang of putting the car seat in and out of both the base and the stroller, but after that, it was quick and easy.
The one-handed folding feature of the stroller honestly seemed too good to be true, and I was expecting it to be more complicated than the example video on Graco’s website made it seem. However, I found it to be just as simple and efficient in person as it looked in the video! In fact, while everything about this travel system is incredibly well-designed and easy to use, the one-handed folding may be the easiest. A single arrow printed on the seat of the stroller makes it intuitive to grab the strap, which is partially hidden under a fold of fabric but still readily accessible, and just by lifting the strap the entire stroller smoothly folds and is ready to be stored. I appreciated how compact and lightweight the stroller is while I was traveling, which made it is easy to store on top of my luggage for easy access, without worrying that it may crush something.
The car seat is great, with many standard features such as a generous sun canopy that can be folded back out of the way, chest straps which can be set up at different heights to ensure a proper fit as the child grows, and the ability to easily tighten or loosen the straps when getting the baby in and out.
While I like the car seat, the real selling point for me is the stroller, which seems very thoughtfully designed. Some of my favorite features are the double cup holders and the shallow handle tray which is the perfect place to toss my keys or phone. The mesh basket below the stroller isn’t huge, and is not a particularly convenient spot for a diaper bag, but does work great for coats, blankets, and all those extra things I seem to find myself grabbing out of the car at the last minute “just in case”. I also love the fact that this stroller so easily and securely works with my baby’s car seat, AND can be used as an independent stroller when she gets older!
This travel system makes it easy to take my daughter into coffee shops for a quick stop, without needing to carry a heavy car seat or move her to a separate carrier. I am so grateful that I was given this Travel System to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel- it’s a system I’d easily recommend to new parents because of it’s thoughtful and functional design, compact fold, and versatility.

So easy for solo outings or single parents
on April 24, 2019

This is a great, safe, easy to use travel system. It is well crafted, and everything has a nice clicking sound to lock it into place and let me know we’re ready to roll.
The stroller itself is smaller is size which is great for maneuvering the aisles of the market, a crowded zoo, walking about the neighborhood. This things turns on a dime and doesn’t sacrifice any comfort for baby even though the design is compact.
My favorite feature is how light, yet study it is to one-handed collapse and place in my trunk while holding baby (in her car seat safely). I don’t drive a big SUV so for my small sedan it’s perfect.
Baby is comfortable with the padding and the angle options are so nice for her preferences and as she grows. She can see the world or fall asleep for a relaxing snooze. The car seat is easy to take from car to outing without much fuss and for me to make solo trips and ensuring my baby is always in my grip and I can safely set up my stroller. Easy to install the base into the car too.
The fabric and padding is really nice quality as well so we just look great about town.
Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this Travel System to review.

Lightweight affordable option, but has some issues
on April 26, 2019

I was excited to try out a new travel system for my little man but this one left some things to be desired. To start I could not get the car seat to connect to the stroller for the life of me, there is an elastic band over the adapter where the car seat clicks in and it was impossible to get it secure under such a tight covering (this was without a baby in the seat so I can't imagine how difficult it would be with an infant strapped in!). So I've only used this product as a separate carseat and stroller. The stroller is super easy to fold with one hand and I love that the snack tray doesn't have to be removed in order to fold it. The adult beverage holder is a nice feature as well. The stroller was very light, but sometimes this made for a bumpy ride. I appreciate how compactly the stroller folds up, especially nice for smaller living spaces and cars. The carseat is also very light which was a welcome change from my old one. My little one seemed quite uncomfortable in his other infant seat, so we thought we were going to have to move up to a convertible sooner rather than later, but he seems pretty content in this one and has room to grow. One thing that seemed odd to me on the carseat was the release for the straps is under the fabric, so you have to reach your finger in through a hole in order to loosen them for loading and unloading baby. Overall I liked the weight and compactness of both the stroller and carseat, but it did not work as a travel system for me. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this Travel System.
