Good but some key problems

I’ve owned this golf watch for 5 months now. First the positives:
- looks good and very light
- accurate yardages for UK and European golf courses
- function where scores can be logged is great and easy to enter on the course.
- moving flag on green useful and lay up yardages helpful.

Now for the negatives:
- can take ages to pick up satellite signal which can be very frustrating if it takes 3 or 4 holes to work!
- touchscreen is great but very sensitive and even activates if brushes again clothing (not just finger touch)
- almost never registers driver hits so seldom get yardages for drives, although works well in irons, even wedges. No function to start measuring manually as on the S1.
- Analysis of round poor. App will be able to tell you driving accuracy (if you input data during round on scoring function) but nothing on putts for some reason. Also no average function which would be useful if you save all your rounds, eg, average number of putts or running percentage GIR.

Overall, it’s ok but I’d stick with much cheaper S1 as lots of the additional functionality of S40 doesn’t work consistently.

I bought it about a month back, used three times and it hung up 2 times, won't reset until the battery died, it worked again. I plan to get it exchanged. It worked great while it was working.

Best watch ever!

I had an S20 and really liked it. When the S40 hit the market I was immediately interested based solely on the look. BUT, this is much more than an attractive watch and yardage tool. The touch screen is awesome and I love that I can easily move the flag around and get my yardage. And track other activities as well. Timer for my grilling is also very handy because it is right on my wrist!
The wearability is great. Very comfortable and the bands come off for cleaning which is nice.
This device has everything I need. Would buy it again without hesitation.

Love My Approach S40

I purchased this to help me administer my game and I am so glad I did. I love having the data right on my arm instead of having to pick up another device after each shot to see how far I am. Additionally, I have distances to hazards, bends, etc right at my fingertips. It makes club selection and course management so much easier for me. I love that the battery lasts for days. I would highly recommend this for any level golfer.
