Easy to operate

Att 77 yrs old I am on my 2nd Garmin Watch with the S-40 an really appreciate the many features. Absolutely recommend not for all - especially us Senior's. Thank you Garmin engineers.

Great product

Just grabbed it about two weeks ago and so far kind of satisfied with it. Even though I still figuring it out, so far I have noticed some distance discrepancies, no something that will ruin my game but makes me wonder about club selection.
For the money I think there's nothing comparable in the market, looking into a upgrade very soon (S62).

Great Features .... but

Clear optics, very accurate, but scrolling through the number of options can be confusing. As time goes on, and my knowledge of the location of the options gets better, I'm sure I will appreciate the S40 even more.

I brought the s40 2 weeks ago I have tried on Lakeridge and Millrun. The yardage was indicated some where from 5 to 20 yards in different. I compare with my friend who has S20 and mine was indicated 20 yards shorter than his

Too difficult to set up unless you have your phone

Every time you get ready to use it, you have to make sure it is charged and that is not easy, it has a very small charging stem.

Unhappy Buyer!

I bought this a month ago and still cannot get it to work. My wife tried also. She is more technologically savvy than I am. Not sure what to do. Most likely too late to return. Will not buy a garmin product again!

Likes: Intuitive settings; comfortable band; easy to read display; like all non-golf options; yardage measures very accurate; great stats on Garmin Connect; good tech support; notifications (email calendar, etc.) nice feature; satisfactory charging time
Dislikes: No digital watch face option that shows hours, minutes, and seconds; 6 digit number randomly appears an does not "go to sleep", reducing battery life; can enter penalty strokes in "golf" mode, but penalty stats do not appear on Garmin Connect scorecard; "No weather data available" displayed frequently even though watch is paired and sync-ed with phone; club recommendation/selection appears only after hitting ball - would be nice to view recommended club options at time distance is displayed

almost too sophisticated

First, let me say I am not computer literate so some of my issues are probably just me. I am having a great deal of trouble using the watch for golf. First, I need an overview picture of the full hole but I can't seem to find that. If I make a mistake and want to go back a hole or two I have trouble doing that. I really wish there was someone who could demonstrate all the features. I have trouble just reading about them.
