Product ok, getting it up and running not

The product performs well. Problem is instructions to get up and running poor. Hence spent about 5 hrs where 1 , at most, should have sufficed. In addition, their tech support was pretty bad in terms of providing useful assistance. These guys really need to be trained.

Faster and More Reliable Than a Basic Router

It has definitely allowed me to tap into greater speeds and I have to restart and reset much less often. The security features are a nice added bonus.

Slower than previous model

Router ran well for about 1 1/2 years. Now it struggles to keep 35 Mbps on both 2.4 and 5G bands. This is measured only 20 ft from router with no walls.
Terribly disappointed in this. Netgear has produced great products in the past. Not so much with this one
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Drops 5Ghz band frequently

This router worked well when first bought but a couple firmware updates ago the router now drops the 5GHz band for around a minute randomly. If you search on-line this is a wide-spread problem with this particular router. It makes remote learning and working from home near impossible when connected to the 5GHz band. Factory resets have been completed as well with no changes. Netgear says they don't know about this issue (even though it is all over their own forums). Unless they address this with a firmware update soon I would stay far away from this product as there is device cannot operate on anything but the 2.4GHz band and be stable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
