Amazing

This year my teenage sons came to live with us after spending the last few years living full time with their mother. They are gamers, and the new pressure added to our very old set up exposed its obsolescence. We upgraded the cable modem from the one provided by our internet provider to a newer and more capable unti. Then we bought this router. The difference in performance is quite astounding. Streaming services are able to actually deliver their content in 4K, the boys experience no lag in their games, and the various internet connected devices in the household are performing much more reliably. I would have never guessed that a router was the difference maker before this, but now I believe this machine would allow most people to pay for less bandwidth and still feel that their service was improved. Way to go Netgear!

Internet is so much better now

You know, most of the time we blame our ISP because our internet is slow, wifi disconnects, etc. Although it may be the case with the ISP sometimes it could be the equipment you have. After switching from a cable modem combo to a modem and separate router, the internet in my house has been great especially with my nighthawk AC2300 from Netgear. I made this purchase a few days before Christmas while family was visiting. I had 11 devices connected to the WiFi at the time and the internet was flawless. I could tell the difference. My internet was terrible and it was just my wife and I connected. Now I get a whole family with cell phones, tablets, consoles, etc and everything is still going strong. Incredible. I do recommend any of Netgears products and highly recommend getting a separate modem and router. It may cost more but trust me it's worth it.

Nighthawk solved my whole home network issues

We recently switched from DIRECTV to PlayStation view for streaming television to save a lot of money each month. I had an older net gear router that was not able to handle the demands for the wired cat six connection and support the wireless devices in our home. I was having to reboot the router multiple times a day which was extremely frustrating for my family. After reading the reviews on the Nighthawk I made the purchase and from the moment it was connected everything has worked perfect and I have not had to reboot the router or power it through once! Very happy and would recommend for those with gaming needs as well as reliable Wi-Fi signal throughout a two-story home. I do have a range extender Upstairs to ensure connectivity, however the signal strength at 5G from the main router does carry throughout the home. Wireless download speeds downstairs went up to over 200Mbps.

I really like this router

I recently purchased Netgear Nighthawk R7000P AC2300 Smart Wi-Fi Router to replace the cable provider's standard issue modem. I really like this product for it's features, and ease of installation and use. It is very customizable and provides much better control over the features than any modem I have owned, either through the app or by logging into the modem. You can even turn the indicator lights off. It's hard to say objectively, but I think the Wi-Fi on all the devices seems faster and more responsive than with the cable company's modem. I don't think about my place as particularly busy 'hub' but we have a lot of devices, ie, 2 smartphones, ipads, laptops, desktops, Alexa, Smart TVs, guests coming and going, etc. So the ability to customize the delivery of the wi-fi channels to these devices is really helpful. In summary, I think this is a great modem and excellent value for the cost.

Wow! Fast! and Strong!

We recently purchased the Netgear Nighthawk AC2300. When we moved into our current home, our new ISP supplied an integrated modem wifi router unit, but it was never really provided satisfactory service. We grew tired of agonizingly slow internet speeds and an a weak signal from that modem wifi router, so I began looking into looking into wifi extenders or a mesh system. One Sunday the ISP's unit simply failed, and I thought, "let's just get a new wifi router unit." All I can say is wow. Now, my download speeds are (typically) higher than the bandwidth I'm paying for, and the wifi signal blasts all throughout the house, the garage, and both the front and backyard. And, thankfully, I don't need a wifi extender or mesh, as the Nighthawk's signal is so incredibly strong. And, the Nighthawk has enough ethernet ports for needed hardwired devices (security system, Roku, etc). What a great wifi router! Couldn't be happier with it.

A very solid solution

I was in need of a new router, due to my current one being very unreliable. I had my mind set on an inexpensive solution, but after spending some time at the store talking to a very knowledgeable store employee and after researching online, I decided on the Nighthawk R7000P from Netgear. I am very happy I made this decision, because this thing outperforms my expectations, and I am a picky person when it comes to IT solutions. The speed is incredibly relaliabe with consistently low latency. It is large and at first kind of looked funny on my desk, but now I think it looks very cool. The beamforming+ and the MU-MIMO technology is cutting edge, and the more I learn about each, I can see the value they provide. I am frankly surprised these features are offered in a router at this price point. So to sum up, if you need an incredibly reliable, fast and easy to use WiFi router to build out your network, this device will not leave you disappointed!

So Far works like a charm
on May 29, 2019

To start - I am extremely limited when it comes to tech-related stuff - we bought this router for a second home deep into the country - with terrible cell service) but I chose netgear over 2 other products Linksys which was recommended by a friend with deep tech-infrastructure credentials and Another brand recommended by my brother. I picked Netgear because it had a higher percentage of 5 star reviews than the other two brands and it was recommended by the guy who installed my fiber line. So all I had to do was follow directions - and everything fell into place - full bars throughout the 1st and 2nd floor of the house - unit is in basement.
I have just one minor complaint - had I known that the final step to connecting with the router had to be be completed via an app - I would have down loaded my app prior to headed upstate. As it happened - I was able to eventually download the app and complete the connection - I am now a very heppy camper

Works Great with Little Loss
on May 29, 2019

It typical for speeds to be lower over WiFi than connected via Ethernet and this router is no exception. The difference is that the loss of speed isn't significant with this router, even on a different floor in a different area of the house. I have the router sitting in the basement on top of my desk (right below an air duct) and the speed loss 5 feet from the router compared to the first floor is minimal, regardless of where I am on the floor. One thing that has confused me is that sometimes I get 200 Mbps speeds and other times I may get as low as 20mbps, despite the internet speed using the nighthawk speed test to be right around 200mbps. Maybe there is just a lot of 2.4 or 5 GHz congestion during those times? I also really enjoy that Circle is integrated and allows you to set up different devices to use different filters and set Google safe search and YouTube retracted. This is one thing that is lacking when using openDNS. Overall, excellent router after only a week.
