Intuitive Router

We have owned this router for a few weeks and have already noticed a huge improvement in our wireless signal strength and coverage. Out of the box, this was easy to set up with just my iPhone. The SmartConnect feature allowed us to maintain our previous SSID but we no longer had to choose between 2.4 or 5 GHz. The Nighthawk App lets us monitor connected devices and even preform a speed test. Dead spots seem to be gone that we suffered with from our previous router. The only downside may be the Armor and Circle apps, which seem like upsells after the trials (it is nice that there is no additional hardware required for Disney Circle).Overall, this intuitive router has really increased our family's connectivity.

A drastic change

The wifi in my house has been lacking for years now and I finally decided to upgrade my router. After doing much research and asking around I came upon this router. Although I was very reluctant to buy because of the price tag I decided to go for it considering how old my previous router was. The installation on this was extremely easy. Just connect it to the modem, plug everything in and then use the app to sort things out. The past week has been amazing with this new router. Streaming movies online is fast and never buffers. I have also noticed that my PlayStation 4 games run a lot smoother on multiplayer now. I cannot recommend this router enough and if your on the fence, do yourself a favor and purchase it.

Great Whole-Home Router

Whether it is Gaming, Streaming, or Scrolling through your news feed, this router has you covered. I have two children who place a major demand on our routers bandwidth, not to mention the multiple Smart TV's, Laptops, and mobile devices that are constantly used in our home, and this router does not skip a beat. The install is painless when using the mobile nighthawk app, making this install essentially plug and play. Plus this thing looks a lot better than most routers out there with a minimalist color palette. Another thing worth noting is the ease of troubleshooting thanks to the easily identifiable status lights that can tell you your problems from across the room, hopefully before you start throwing things..

Works in a 100 year old house

That means chicken wire in the walls holding up plaster - Faraday Cage - lots of metal in the walls and a tin roof messing with signals. This router still gives decent signal all through the house (2 floors, attic and basement) and around the yard. That is pretty impressive. Even my phone doesn't get bars for phone calls the way this router puts out WIFI signal.
Anyway, we have 9 devices in this old house. It puts up with all 3 of us streaming, gaming and watching Netflix. It does it all despite issues with the chicken wire in the walls and everything else.
The app lets me know when folks are jumping on the network and doesn't get finicky with our VPN. All in all, it works great and is a hard worker. Can't ask for more.

Great fast router!!

This router is very fast, it made all my wifi connected devices 3 times faster if not more... Right now I can only have sat. Internet where I live, and with my old wifi router I couldn't watch movies, you tube, music, basically the old router was as fast a dial up ( for you young people, dial up was very slow, but the fastest thing we had at that time 56k, yes not a misprint 56 kilabites)
It also allowed me to connect several devices and not have any of them slow down, no way could I ever do that on my old router. It also has a larger range which is great.
This router also sped up my computer connected through cat6..
So over all this is a great router, very fast, multiple devices can connect with out any lag, great product!! 5 stars

fixed all my issues!

The new Nighthawk we installed cured all the problems we were having with our network at home. We had a desk top, 3 lap tops, 3 cell phones, 3 tablets, a phone system, wireless printer, cable TV (3 TV's), and security system all on the old router. It was slow, sometimes no response at all. Sometimes 15 minutes to boot up and then it would have to be rebooted to work correctly. To Print items sometimes never would get to the printer for hours and by then my wife would have tried printing them 10 or 15 times and when they finally get to the printer we ended up with 10 or 15 copies of the documents. All of these problems have gone away with the new Nighthawk AC2300.

Great user-friendly DYI router

I measure a tasks difficulty based on the ability of an able-bodied do-it-yourselfer to successfully execute the task at hand. I give this router hi marks for it's easy to use app in installing and utilizing all the routers functions. But even for traditionalist like myself for I hardwired directly into the router for setup, the interface was easy to use and has come a long way in comparison to past router set ups.
Signal strength is strong, fast and stable in providing noticeable improvements when streaming videos and surfing the net. Not sure if the $50 additional cost for the MIMO function is worth the additional cost over the next step down Netgear router since I'm not sure as to how to measure it's performance. Overall very pleased with this router.

This router has been the best purchase yet. After realizing that my previous router was probably the issue with the slow internet speed in my house, I went to buy a new one. I knew the NETGEAR name, but it was actually a customer at the store who sold me on this model as he stated he purchased one earlier in the year. We spoke for about 30 minutes and he assured me this was what I needed and I would not be disappointed. He was so right, the ease of installation and the features for the money, I have sold my friends and co-workers and gotten them to buy the same model. Thanks NETGEAR for keeping up with the technology and making my kids quiet from complaining that the et is running too slow. I know that this product will last and be seen as a great investment.
